Hi,

I still like it.

Cheers,
Nik

I only respect the opinions of people who comment on the look of cars who actually have decent looking cars.

Not many people here on this thread.

I really like what you're doing with it. Keep up the good work.

Hi.

Car is now a 5 speed manual.

PS:

197kW ATW.

Turns out the cars had an accident and the floor is buckled a little and I've only ever hit 50% throttle.

Regards,
Nick.

Damage isn't too bad Alex.

I just need to fix the rust in the floor and it's sweet. We just banged the floor out lol.

Power is very smooth and well distributed.. I agree it does need an LSD though. Havent tried pushing it just yet, hit the rev limited tonight but only once. Just gonna burn the clutch in.

Shiet thats a nice number. Very jealous. Wheels look tits dude, match the colour of the car. And as you said, they're of the same era. Winning.

Do you think that damage could be why the guy sold it so cheap, Nick?
He must have known its value lol, being a long time BMW worker or watever.

I was even shocked!! There is a lot more engine work done to it then I have been told, according the tuner/my mechanic. Sounds like hes done some work internally apart from the cams.

Have you done any research to see what other M20s make? I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I'm sure, 100% sure, it's made 190 horsepower not kW. Simply put, even the world's most modified M20 cylinder head won't flow that much air. I've seen 2.5, 2.8, 3.0 and 3.1L (which is the absolute biggest capacity you can get it to go), and even with heads ported as far as they can go, ITBs, aftermarket ECUs, etc it'll only make an absolute max of 300hp @ flywheel (roughly 223kW). The car that made that power had a $17,000 3.1L Ireland Engineering motor, huge cam, ITBs, tuned length headers, etc.

Sorry to say it, man. 190hp is still a very healthy M20B25 though.

I thought 197kw seemed a bit crazy but let it go :P 197hp = 146kw.

Hmmm.. I swear the dyno chart was in kW!! Maybe it was horses. Spewing!

I left it at the mechanic, maybe on the weekend I will pop by and pick it up.

I did a quarter mile in 14.5 seconds when I was at WSID doing a defensive driving test.

Anyway, updates wise!

Installed a whiteline sway bay I picked up for $50!!! Can't really tell much difference as I've got the car back on stock springs, but it was a bargain so I snapped it up.
Smoked hellas, and the black kidneys also installed in the past month or so.
HID's installed too, but they are less then 5000k and don't look wanky on the road. Nice white light from smoked headlights.
