Hey guys,

I would like to get some stuff off import monster, but i got no idea what the "go" is with shipping and other costs that go along with it.

for starters i would like to buy: click here for my gen3.

Any advice and help you all can give would be great for a first timer like myself :)

Thank you

Russ

I was pretty confused myself but I took the plunge recently. Once you find the part you want you click on the shipping estimator and pick whether you want EMS or Sea Container. Then from their table estimate which cost bracket (depending on which shipping type you picked) that your item fits into. It was easy for me since I got a set of struts and springs so I picked the coilover category. They've got Strutbrace listed as Type B for EMS and Type A for Sea Container.

If you're happy with the total amount they come up with then you've got to add money to your account. Bank deposit is the only one without fees I think but you've got to make sure you put the money in with enough time to transfer before the auction finishes. They take a deposit out as soon as you place a bid. Then when/if you win they'll take the full estimated amount out. Once they get exact shipping quotes they'll adjust this amount by taking more out or putting some back.

They you just wait... Which is what I'm up to now.

Be sure to use the hold function if you're planning on buying more than one item so you can combine shipping. Hope this helps (and is right).

Dunno if its just me but the shipping prices seem to not make it worthwhile.

Depends how badly you want that rare Jdm part!

Some parts aren't actually that bad anyway

Yeah, really seems to vary as to whether it's worth it. Cheap parts are annoying because of the minimum Import Monster commission.

http://www.jessestreeter.com/ this guy is cheaper
My friend got a set of coilovers delivered for his 300zx for $440, the coils cost $150, so postage through him is HEAPS cheaper than IM
Few people on ozfoz who have used him.

The coils that I've got coming at the moment that cost $170 were $470 overall. Doesn't seem too different.
