Some more photos of Sub/Amp and Subaru Valve Covers:

Amp is a 4X 100W RMS from Jaycar. Got it half price as a clearance/ mates rates.

Sub is another Jaycar special. Just a 12" Paper Cone Woofer in a sealed box driven of the bridges rear channels on the amp. For how cheap it was, the performance is a lot better than you would expect. Low range isn't perfect, but i like to have music EQ'd fairly flat, with slight tweaks to my tastes. Nothing worst than jumping in a mates car and all you get is bass. I've set the sub so it isn't overpowering to the rest of the system as the door woofers don't have a very low range, so its in there more to provide the low frequencies that the door woofers cant achieve rather than just sheer overpowering volume like most people seem to like :S

If anyone is looking for a cheap effective way to achieve just a little better low end without breaking the bank, i highly suggest these cheap paper cone woofers. If you like mucking around with audio and have a slight idea on how to build /set up sub boxes than you could easily muck around with position and ported/sealed boxes that would possible benefit the subs lower frequency capabilities.

22 bucks! Was that on AUS or US eBay? I'll have a look now and see what I can find :D

In other news, my billies turned up from b_hind_u in adelaide yesterday so since I finished trade school early today I chucked the rears in and all I can say is wooow! Massive difference all ready haha any wait to put the fronts in if I have an early finish this week, otherwise satay morning is looking good, along with a wheel alignment after :D

Yea great price huh!

It was from the US. Not sure how I found it but I would assume I just did a normal search for it. I remember it was US cos some other guy who bought one from them sent me a msg saying his didn't fit, but it was because he had a newer revision outback, but yours is the same as mine so no worries!
Just make sure you confirm with them before buying its for our model :) (MY99-00 / Rev A-C )

Had a little search today but couldn't find anything that cheap. Cheapest was $78 with free shipping which i guess isnt too bad. But super low on cash at the moment after buying billies, bed and $80 of fuel today!!! Prices are le poo at the moment :( Ran her till she was empty haha

Updates:

Installed my Billies i purchased from b_hind_u and after rounded the bottom nut and having to drill/crack it off on the drivers side, it was alll smooth sailing haha

Here the result of rounded Nut ($30 for new bolt and nut!)

Posted Image

And the only other photo i have taken of them in haha

Posted Image

All i can say is wow! What a MASSIVE difference they have made. Driving in the wet now, is like driving in the dry on old shocks. Got an alignment of Sat morning and have been enjoying every minute of them since. So big thanks to b_hind_u for selling them to me.

I think next on the 'cheapish' list is to redo most, if not all the bushes i can. I already have a Whiteline ALK which made a reasonable difference. So would like to redo the rest. Along with some sway bars from a B4 since they can be purchased fairly cheap and a RFRB grill :D

As for 'expesive' things. Tryes. When i bought my wheels, two tyres had been replaced so atm i am rolling on some Falken somethings ® and some Sailen Atrezzos (F). They're alright in the dry but nothing compared to my old Potenzas, even though they had terrible wear and had gone hard. So thinking about getting some Khumo KU31's. Has anyone had any experience using these tryes?

So yeah. Cheers for reading and stay tooned for more updates :)

Haha alright well i have a habbit of erasing the outsides of my front tyres, and since putting the billstiens in... Twice as bad :sarcastic: . Googled some reviews last night on the 31's and 90% were positive, only downside been that they get fairly noisy towards the end of there life. But i got music and zorsts to drown that out ;)

So did a minor service on the weekend (Oil & Coolant) and have a couple questions....

Firstly. I need to change brake fluid according to serive manual and so was just wondering if there is any specific tools neccacary to bleed brakes with ABS or suby's in general?

Secondly. Before i did a coolant change, whenever i started the car from cold, a mejestical waterfall would spawn itself in my dash :@ after some reading it beame clear it was air on the heatercore. So.... Changed the coolant, bleed it slightly (poor effort, but was in rush) and as a result had a fair bit of air in colling system. Bleed the system last night for about 20-25 mins (Jacked car up, radiator cap off, heater on max heat, rev between 2-3, hold at 3, fluctuate from idle -3k, idle etc.) and got alot of air out. But this morning when i started car, again, the megestical waterfall spawned itself in my dash :(

Is there any tips to get the rest of it out? Got told today to stick/tape a bottle in the radiator cap and fill it with coolant, that way the radiator has to fill up since bottle/coolant level is higher than engine bay.

Going to try the bottle tip now, will let you's know how i go :)

Cheers Morgs, excellent DIY!

I ended up jacking up the front, on stands and tapped an old milk bottle to the radiator cap with the top cut off. Then filled about 200-300ml of coolant in it and started the car. Through various cycles of RPM's etc i managed to get what i thought was all of the air out. But this arvo going around a corner i thought i heard what seem to be a very faint waterfall/running water sound :( All be it its improved alot from before haha

Cheers JIM! Been lacking in cash lately (trying to build up a small reserve haha) so hopefully can start modding again :)

If anyone has a rear B4 Sway Bar chillin around, id be more than happy to tack it off your hands for a reasonable price :)

Got an exhaust clip whilst playing 'bleed the EJ' will attempt to upload it in now on my stone age internetz

At least it's quieter than before! Maybe try again after a few hot and cold cycles and it might completely disappear?!

Wahh, the waterfall has come back! Getting worst everytime i drive it :( Maybe a possible leak somewhere? Forgot to mention that i broke the s****y plastic drain plug on the radiator whilst putting it back in .(Head just stripped on with no real torque applied) So because i couldn't get a new one on a sunday my dad and i fashioned up a replacement using a metal bolt with same thread pattern/size and spaced it out with washers etc. It doesn't appear to be leaking though so is there still a possibility that air is somehow getting in there :S

Here's a small exhaust clip taken on my iPhone.. Doesn't sound that ricey in person, but i guess the little mic in the iPhone is designed for capturing exhaust notes haha

UEL's are in desperate need haha

If there was a leak in the cooling system wouldn't fluid escape not let air into the system?
Heat = expansion = pressure.
I'm no expert on the matter but it seems logical to me.
Keep bleeding I reckon.

Yes. Uel's needed stat.
Lose the fart noise. Sounds like an Hyundai excel with a leaking exhaust manifold Ha!
(I'm in a bad mood sorry) :nik:

The fluid is replaced by air once the system cools down again ;)

Yeah, will re bleed again on the weekend :) As for exhaust... I think because it sounded better than stock that it clouded my hearing and it's not until now where i hear 2 WRX's drive past my house every night/morning that i have come to my senses! haha

Thats what i was finkin. Good news is that it hasn't gotten any worst, so a re bleed on saturday and hopefully the problem is fixed :)

Finished work early yesterday so cleaned my car and decided to go take some photos with LIBBY_B4. Here they are.... (I think if you click them you ut should go to Full Res Flickr ones)

I haven't really been taking photos all that long, especially of cars, so any help/advice would be welcomed :)
