Has to be a wagon.

Well, you've really only got a couple of choices.
Under 50k
A couple of years old max
3t towing
Diesel

Mitsubishi PB Challenger
Nissan R51 Pathfinder
Defender 90

Go check out the Mitsubishi.

200 series Landcruiser?

Patrols overfuel and melt piston #3 like no tomorrow.. Unless you block off the EGR port to keep inlet temps down and make sure its always serviced and air filters clean.

200 Series 'Cruiser?

I said under $50k. Not under $150k.

LOL

I'd do bad things for a 200. Like, ladyboy kinda shit.

Series 3 or 4 of the GU patrol had the engine problem fixed. My ex's brother bought one at the start of the year. Nice car, i rate em.

Before we bought my uncles Prado we were looking at GUII Patrols. We actually use them off road though. Friend of ours has a 98 4.8ltr Patrol on Gas, gets better economy than his wifes econobox. I like proper 4x4's :)

Slight correction:

Hilux is the least of the bunch at 2.2t (word on the street is that the new updated diesel/chassis is due 2016. WTF?)
Amarok is 2.8t
New Ranger/BT50 is at 3.35t

Sorry, I wasn't talking about their rated towing capacities, I was talking about how much power they had when we drove them.
The current Hilux is over priced and underwhelming.

Is there any reason you need towing capability minimum 3t? 3t is an incredible weight...
I use hiluxes at work. Good work horses, but thats about it. Crappy interior, squeaks everywhere, and seat comfort and adjustability is absolute shite. Towing capacity is under-rated to what it will actually do though.

Be surprised about the 200 series. GXL can be had, 08 vintage (maybe a bit old, but hey), 70 - 90 thousand km, for approx 50k.

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Hi,

I'm assuming the 2 year limit is firm due to the finance option you're going for?

I could see you in a Defender. Just.

Cheers,
Nik

This no less that two years old thing is limiting your options.

Does it have to be two years?

Yo Brenda!

Basically coming off the coal face, and working for a private company selling top end surgical instruments and equipment all over NSW.

Chris: Contract is sitting in front of me, and I have to give my current job two weeks notice before anything happens with the new job. I'll hand my resignation on Monday (girly's b'day shenanigans this weekend)

Worst comes to worst, I'll give the girly the sled, and I'll take the WRX for a little bit (her suggestion.....wait...whut?)

Haha! She's probably keen to trade up mate. Happy bday to her for this weekend!

Send me a PM if you want to talk about any points in your contract around your vehicle policy.
