LOL I should get off my ass and go to more meets but working two jobs kills all spare time (get like 3 nights a week free to do anything which the missus usually tries to tax :P) Probably a good idea to let Al pick the tuner,.. him being in that industry and based there and all he would know who was good and who was not etc.

I know the EZ30R was first seen in the gen4 but I consider it a gen3 engine as it first made its appearance as a EZ30D. Is it so different to the EZ30D in the gen3 that it deserves to credit its first appearance to the gen4?

Why not just credit the GEN III with the first H6 as that is what it's referred to by most people. Even non-Sooby motorheads aren't 'down wiv' the actually name, like EZ30, same as most call EJ's, Boxers or H's.

the ez30d had completely different heads to the R... they don't have AVCS or individual exhaust ports... the power was 155kw in auto gen3 form (i believe) the ez30r that i'm getting has AVCS, individual exhaust ports, variable valve lift and duration and all sorts of crazy shit... makes 180kw stock... the difference between the two is that the R has much, much better top end than the 30d, which dies off towards the top end. To quote Al himself

And the ER27 before that, available from 87 in the Subaru XT.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Was the SVX ever sold locally? I've only ever seen 2 on the road, always assumed they must be imports...

Yes, but the price was unbelievably high at the time.
As Tony Montana would say:
In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

They were, but didn't sell very well as they were fat, slow and expensive.

More of a grand touring sports car.
