Thanks Mate

Yeah I noticed you had a few socks/canisters there... I also called Subaru and you cant buy a new sock on its own. Its part of the fuel pump assembly! I would have thought it was something that could/should be replaced as part of scheduled maintenance...

I've got the same pump (had one on my GT back in the day and did the trick), so I'll look at installing it in the next week or so.

Your car is looking great too - loving the stealth look!

Cheers

Josh

Thats a bit crap if you need a new one for whatever reason you would need to buy a new pump.

There are still I few things I don't like about the car but only minor that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of driving it. =)

Now I just gotta get onto stripping the GC8 for parts and selling it all.

Also ordered some blue vinyl to attempt to wrap my wood grain bits to match the B4 interior. Also looking at getting a new gearstick boot & console lid done in a black and blue leather to match the seats. Just gotta work out the design.

Sounds nice - blue stitching obviously?

Look forward to seeing the interior when its done.

Well I was either going to do that, or make it black & blue leather with opposite stitching. Something like this, with one being perforated like the B4 seats.

Well I got my wrap I ordered off Ebay.

Wrapped my wood grain looking bits over the weekend. Turned out okay for my first time and having a history of wrapping school books shit. it is a bit brighter than I wanted but still feel it ties in alright. One problem I can see is I didnt get the print going the same way on the gearstick surround

Looks like a pretty good effort.

I did mine recently too. Unfortunately it's lifted on a few of the corners but that's from my lack of experience and not having enough wrap tucked underneath to hold it all in place. I'm going to do it all again soon and it will be spot on I reckon. I'll prime the underside to hold it on a bit better too.

I don't mean to be negative but it's a shame the lines on the gear stick surround aren't going the same direction as the other wrap.

But not bad man. Not bad at all.

Yeah I will redo it at some stage, seeing as it was only $10 for the wrap and had leftover.  I wish I had of realized before to put it the same way lol.

Looks good, but I share the same opinion as Josh. Having it going the same way throughout would look heaps nice. It's your first time, no sweat. Mistakes happen. ;)

lol I'm not holding my breath that it doesn't start to peel either so will try again once that happens. If the 2nd time doesn't work I will be painting it instead....

I don't mind it, but sure is a bit of a contrast going from red outside to blue inside :D

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I should just convert to single, right?

I think that is why I like it so much, people think its weird. But when you are inside you don't really notice the red and when your outside you can't see the blue inside.

Yours turned out really good. Think I will try it again and devote more time into it.

Mine has already peeled in parts around the gearstick. Which gives a good reason to do it again and match the pattern up.

So I finally got some codes appear, Coming back to the car throws a a CEL and goes out when revs drop to idle.

So 3 codes

23 Air Flow Meter or Circuit (Exc. Justy)

24 Air Control Valve or Circuit (Exc. Justy)

31 Throttle Position Sensor or Circuit

I think 31 is because the wiring was a bit stuffed and that may be what is causing that code.

So what would I start looking for with the other 2?

Also finally worked out what the rattle was. I was looking at FMIC piping being the problem. Turns out the std downpipe had a clearance issue that wasn't there before the exhuast was put on.

I also don't seem to see more than 10PSI at WOT in any gear at any RPM. I have been told the stock PSI is around 13.6 or 14. I have replaced all the vac lines with new stuff as it was all brittle. And I have made sure to put the pill back in the line that goes from the T to the turbo.

As far as information I can find is that the MY99-00 WRX only had the one. Can anyone confirm this?

I managed to find the factory service manuals on google about 4 years ago on a forum somewhere. Look around for '99 wrx factory manual' and see what you find. I won't have a chance to look for a day or 2, otherwise I would just tell you. Someone had put them all into PDF format. I'd email them to you, but they are about 10 - 25mb each section, and I don't know of any email company that will allow attachments that size... Unless hotmail has increased their limits past 10Mb?

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Upload them to Dropbox, allow temporary public access to a document, send that person the link, once downloaded lock it again.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

So I went up to Sydney yesterday to pay a visit to see Ichiban, This is what I came back with..

a20d085e-06b3-4729-b61d-8d4869d7b795_zps

Took all the FMIC crap out and put the TMIC stuff back in. Runs a hell of a lot better now, hits full boost. Only ever hit 10psi with the FMIC, now hits 13.6 feels so much faster now.
