Hey Alex, congrats on the sale. Whilst sad to see the sled go, I think you had a good run with it. Hopefully onto bigger and better things with the Disco and whatever else you may accumulate in time.
We briefly discussed tuning of your Disco, last time I saw you at Hooters.
Just wondering if you know whether tuning will void your warranty? What's Land Rover's stance with this?
Tuners often promote their tunes as being 'within factory specifications' and hence will NOT void warranty. But then I've heard of situations where the manufacturer says the oppoosite and don't honor the warranty. Any ideas with that?
Slightly related topic about warranty's and such - my folks car had dramas with its air suspension system shortly after the factory warranty expired. Cost four or five grand to fix! The extended warranty they had purchased just prior, practically paid for itself in one shot!

I've heard those Aldi ones are pretty good! You can spend stupid amounts on those coffee pod machines but apparently the cheaper home brand ones are pretty decent. I saw on Today Tonight or one of those programs, so it must be true right?! haha...Alex, I have one of those Aldi pod machines here at home, It isn't like getting coffee from my regular coffee shop but I actually enjoy what it produces.. As you pointed out, " Looks cheap, is cheap, does what it has to relatively OK, and you think nothing of it...."
Was that on the E Class Shiv?
Yup '07 E-Class.

Instant power gain.
May have to remove Queen Street sticker though.
Shiv - Haven't vigourously explored it yet, but I am looking at one of those flash modules where you plug it in, push a button, upload a preloaded tune, and profit.
When returning car back to service, reupload factory tune, and take in for service.
I'll speak to "uncle Jason" and see what he says.
(not our Uncle Jason here... Tara's uncle... Trivett Zetland uncle Jason.)

Really? Y?
Dad bought a new car recently and had a wholesaler friend on the lookout for us.
Dad found a car he liked on Carsales which was located at Trivette's and asked the wholesaler about it (has more negotiating power than a regular punter). This guy was very cautious as he's NEVER had a good experience with these people but inquired about it for us anyway.
After lots of fluffing around they finally got back to us. We agreed on a price but they were still slack with their communication. Still reluctant to go ahead with it because of their incompetence but we were getting desperate for a car (borrowing a friend's car for 8 weeks wasn't ideal).
Finally they got back to us but dad noticed the rego was different to the one we were originally interested in. They had lost our car. Days later, they figured out they had sold it weeks ago. This other car they tried to sell us wasn't the same spec as the original but dad was willing to buy it anyway (at a much cheaper price). Because desperate. However it was then, that dad noticed the wheels were different and a few luxuries were missing. It was the base-spec model.
They sold our car (top-spec), then tried to sell us a different car which was the base-spec which was advertised as the mid-spec.
So much stuffing around. This whole process took about 4 weeks.
Never again.
