If I knew that my business would give me the same amount of income as the bank did, I'd probs go self employed. But the career path pretty much ceases at that moment, and the earning potential stops along with it.

There is enough work to start a franchise of my own out there...honest. Or just put on staff.
I CBF for now :D
But yep, income is dictated by hours in the day.
If you only look at income that way.
The value I have added to my place counts to me...as does the time I have to 'live'.
I stopped chasing money as a 'life goal' years ago...waited tables on too many Rich peeps to want any part of it.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from Pete. Work Life balance.

Luckily for me, at this stage, my work doesn't really require super long hours, so its kinda good at the moment. If I went tinting full time, I'd get up at 10, work for 4/5 hours, and then finish, and still make similar to what im on salary wise. But the way car manufacturers are going in terms of privacy glass, as a long term option, I don't think its sustainable because eventually, tinting will be done by the factory, and people with businesses like mine will cease to exist.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

PS4 media release was a MASSIVE fail. Didn't even show the console, tell a price, or a release date.

I agree. Waste of an hour of my life. Thankfully I had to leave early to do something otherwise I would've watched the entire meeting. Anti climax.

Is working at the bank a good career path? I'd gladly be part of your staff to tint cars Shazman. ;)

Looks like a comfortable job you've got then Pete. Nice work mate.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Yeah, I think so. Well, for me anyway. Being 24 and a Branch Manager is awesome (I'm the youngest BM in NAB at the moment) so I think it will lead to good things. I have often thought about training someone up to do the tinting, but $$$ wise, its a bit of a risk to do it at the moment.

I reckon being self employed is as good as it gets in the 'real' world. Good money, super flexible hours...no one bitchin at you if you don't 'feel up to it' that day etc...

Hahaha Pete, have you ever done self employment?
If you work in a service orientated business, being self employed means you don't answer to one boss, you answer to hundreds. You don't "work the hours you want" you work every hour you can to make a living. Want to get a mortgage? Good luck with that. Hate paying tax? Well you just tripled the money you have to pay to the government each month.

Seriously self employment is hard.

Edit: ahhh crap I should have read further. Seems you are self employed. Well hats off to you if you've made it work. Posted Image'ed if I'd try it again. Then again perhaps it was just my market that was hard. Who knows. All I know is I worked my tail off for 7 years and have Posted Image all to show for it. I've done more in the last two years of being employed ( and really not making much) than I did in the 7 years I was self employed. Every dollar I made just seemed to go back into the business.

Sig worthy.
