As I have bought another set of rims to replace the original ones on my 07SpecB, I am now faced with the dilemma of the best way to dispose of them.
The rims are not damaged in terms of buckles or scrapes but the paint has been destroyed but the original owner and his inability to use the correct wheel cleaning product. This has damaged the layer of chrome paint leaving the black base exposed in spots giving the impression they are really dirty.
It is obvious they need a re-paint and seeing as the factory shadow chrome is difficult to match and I'm not interested in a non factory colour I will sell them.

The question is, do I sell them:
  • As is with the tyres from the other rims fitted (30% left Bridgestone 050As)?
  • As is without tyres?
  • Painted with the tyres from the other rims fitted?
  • Painted without tyres?

If painting is the best option, what colour?

Thanks in advance.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I would be inclined to just sell them as is if you just want to get them gone. You might not get the money your after for them but the person buying them can paint them whatever colour they want.

If you painted them, you would probably only sell them for what they're worth plus the cost of painting, you would probably break even. I would sell them as is, could get a track day or 2 out of them?

Get rid of them as is mate & let the buyer deal with the choices.

Unless you have some one who will do them up for cheap so you don't have to do all the work ;)
I'm half way through doing a set of Gen4 GT rims & they are probably the easiest basic rims to prep but I'm over it already.

I'd get rid of them man. Not worth the hassle to sell them. Leave that to the buyer.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.
