Probs a bit advanced for where I'm at at the moment
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.

I've got iphone5 quality videos of some of the drag runs if they are of any help?

For hopefully constructive criticism.
I would ditch the still shots. Lose the accelerated footage. Probably lose the parts that involve profanity. Drop the crewman footage.
Nice work, though! I watched it.
Cheers,
Nik

Thanks for taking the time to watch it through Nik. I agree on the stills...kills it.
Now that I have something up for the vultures...I'll have another crack and take my time.
Looking forward to what you come up with too...

In the spirit of constructive feedback;
1. Camera is very shakey. I know you can't do much using the GoPro, but yeah, maybe some kind of stabiliser would help?
2. Camera angle. The Marulan footage from the side of the track was awesome, but it would have been so much better perspective if you could get closer to the track. I know you aren't allowed over the fence, but maybe a fuckoff pole with the gopro attached to the end of it, so its more "trackside" so to speak.
3. Movie Maker transitions are very hit and miss. They come across a bit choppy at times. Changing to a different program for editing might help? PM me if you want me to mail you a copy of After Effects on USB boss!
4. Not a HUGE fan of the stills, but I get where you were going with it. Maybe some footage shot at 60fps, then slowed down by 50% will give you the effect you were looking for?
What I did like was the inclusion of people into the car video. It really shows that the RSLC Nationals is not just about cars, but the people as well. I liked the way that there was still some audio of the cars involved, as well as the music. I also really liked the way the inside shots where shot using the gopro. The mounts were perfect, and gave a really good overall viewing angle, which showed all of the inside of the car while driving. The camera where it was mounted behind the drivers seat to the right was kinda cool as well. Thats not a perspective that I would have thought of using, but it paid off!
Solid effort though mate! I couldn't have done the same thing with that software if I tried!

Hey Shaz is your AE for 32 or 64 bit?
64 bit I believe Morgs. Is there a 32 bit available?

I really did no 'pre-planning' when taking the footage nor did I really think about mount positions and camera angles etc. I just wing it
I have had a bit more of a look through some of my raw footage and I'm sure I can make a genuinely watchable end product if I take my time. I always rush to get something out.
I have a better understanding of the editing process after last night's big session...I'm just about to settle into another night right now...
