Read your contract harry or enterprise. Mangement generally try to take advantage of people who dont know any better.

Just last week at work due to our fatige policy we had to have a day off as stand down. Managers were trying to say cause of how much we worked we wouldnt be getting paid for the day off. Although our EA says if we are made to have a stand down day that isnt out RDO or a weekend we must be paid a day's wage for it. Managers then tried to say we were on a shift change, which by our EA says we should have been given a roster change before the commencement of it (which we werent) and if that was the case the public holidays would have been paid at double time and a half and we would have gotten 4days annual leave.
So after seeing that management decided it was easier to just pay us the one day off as stand down

I get awesome penalty rates, rdo's, re-imbursment for the gym and stuff. I really can't complain at all.
