I doubt a shot will be fired.

Yeah this is more likely the case, but IF a shot were to be fired, who do you think will shoot first?

I'm still skeptical that his dad owns a tank. So don't ask me.

US won't do it, because they cannot afford it in any sense of the word 'afford' - broke arse Yankees.

China is the most likely to play Mommy in this situation, where they can flex hard. They already basically told America to shut the Posted Image up and fly right.

Hahaha, it doesn't make some of the shit that comes out of their KCNA any less funny :P

"The moment of explosion is approaching fast,'' the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out "today or tomorrow''.
The General Staff of the Korean People's Army said it was formally informing Washington that US threats would be "smashed by... cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means".

You would be stupid to think otherwise.

I reckon, if it does happen, it will go something like

North Korea fires rocket into South Korea.
USA bombs North Korea
South Korea retaliates and bombs North Korea

As Nik said, USA doesn't have enough cash to go to war again.

communist propaganda. love it.

diversified nuclear strike means? do they even have a nuclear weapon, yet alone the capacity to get a ballistic missile off the launch pad, and then manage hit a specific target

They still have a long long way to go to match the US as far as military equipment and advancement go, but if they keep pulling in the dosh I am sure that is nothing that a good few years and a lot of espionage could not help.

China has a budget of $118 billion dollars for their PLA, and 794,610,775 people available for military service.

China is Moe.

Moe Syslack.

Nobody likes him, everybody is worried about what he might do when left to his own devices. Everybody needs him, he's smart, he has something that everyone else can't live without. Couple that with the fact that they all owe him money they don't have? What have you got? You've got China.

The next war won't be started with guns. It will be started by Moe calling in his bar tab.

I think the real problem here, is that if China side with North Korea, and USA attacks them, and then China decide to get involved, we're really up the creek.

At the end of the day, Moe wins.

I don't really think there is quite enough 'global tension' for China to decide that this is the right time to make the play for the end game.
Lets hope anyway.

It is crazy how much money is spent on killing people.....

Imagine the amount of race tracks you could be building!! or spending it on a space program or something!

China won't side with North Korea in this, they have too much to lose, they have a good thing going.

They haven't a chance at taking the US down right now with a war, having a lot of people doesn't win a war when you have un manned drones and other shit taking them all out.

If anything in the near future I think they will start to have closer relations, they will always have their little tiffs but they are trying at least.

"Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Chang Wanquan and U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel vowed on Wednesday to advance military ties between their countries."
