Eitherway, good idea would be to get a boost gauge... just so I can see how my boost is going...

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Boost gauges arent hard to install buddy. Its definitley worth havig a go. Also the boost gauge i have looks pretty similar to the b4 defi cluster. Ill try and find a pic for you
Thanks mate.. will try to do it someday.
Video on youtube showed the guy taking it off his whole TMIC to install the boost gauge, well, more to get to the grommet in the firewall... I hope I don't have to do that...

Hi,
Don't trash BossKong's thread with talk of installing a boost gauge.
Cheers,
Nik

Bring it up to me one weekend and I'll chuck it in for you. It will cost you the price of supplies to install it. ($10 tops)
As long as you learn a thing or two. Happy days and time well spent.
Or
You could just give it a go. It's not to bad.
Edit: Sorry Nik, I'll ban myself.

Thanks mate, I'll have a go myself, and if not, its off to you... with a 6pack of beer... and a keen mind to learn...
And on that note, I shall exit the boss's thread, and admire his work from afar...

Dont waste your cash on a boost guage.
You need an OB2 adapter: $40tops http://www.ebay.com....=item256a87d864
An Android phone and download the "Torque" app. About $5 on Google App Store.
A phone cradle.
Done. With Torque you can display every piece of information the ECU can output in fully customizable screens such as:
Boost gauges are old school now. Plus with this you can check the ECU for codes and clear them, if need be.

Now you tell me Jimbo... lol...
I already ordered my boost gauge on Friday... Oh well, will see how it goes... might get that ODB2 adaptor thing you mentioned, just not sure if it will work for my car or not, heard it doesn't work with every B4.. have you tried it Boss?

The info you see from OBD2 is delayed.
A mechanical boost gauge isn't.
That could mean the difference between blowing up an engine and saving an engine.

Ha, good point... I thought it would be almost realtime...
Thats cool... will install the boost gauge and think about the ODB2 just for extra info...

It's always good to be able to read codes. Go for it.
As for reading boost. Mechanical gauge all day long.

Would be nice to see 20psi, like Boss, but then my engine would probably explode... LOL!
