Sucked arse.
Thank jebus for air tools. It was so hot, I'd do a bit then have to stop for a beer. If it wasn't for SubyClub browsing and beer I would have smashed it in a few hours. In the end it took about 20hrs.

Diff oil is bad, but we have this diff additive (anti chatter stuff) @ work that smells even worse.

I'm not confident the colours will match...dark blue & light blue but meh.
Maybe a black leather Heritage seat and door trims would go better. Had a set once but I sold them...phooey.

You'd be surprised... Sometimes things aren't what you picture them in your mind to be honest. I've had similar things happen to me with my past cars. Nothing extreme like changing rims and interior, but it's the smaller details that make a big difference.

I feel for you, I did the same with my rear diff bushes. Worst job, hope mine will be easier next time as the brand I got was without the metal sleeve.

Before I changed mine there was a loud clunk from the rear when I took my foot off the gas and decelerated. I also experienced a lot of clutch shudder when taking off/releasing the clutch in first gear. Also a vibration under hard acceleration.
These issues have now disappeared since changing the bushes..
I'm of the opinion the bushes help distribute torque to the rear wheels evenly and absorb some of the initial twisting of the diff by the tailshaft at the same time making the delivery of power smooth. They lock everything in place and then all the power goes through the diff to the shafts.
Someone else might be able to explain it better though.
