Im building a fast streeter at the moment, and im tossing up gc8 vs gda.

bugs are better built, but ugly as sin

gc8's look stupidly hot to this day, and are still the ebst looking wrx.

gc8's can be had for 5k any day, add 5k tot his and your track ready with 200kw atw easy mate.

Do it all yourself, and properly, and you wont look back.

Would buy a sti bug but they are kinda pricey, would want to spend around 15 grand tops.

Haha I would much rather a sti than an evo.

They are listed on carpoint for around 13k  .. That means rock up with cash and you could get it for say 11 ??

For 15k on a suby, I would be keeping an eye out for a good buy on an sti bug too. They offer a lot for their money and although it's subjective I think they look hot.

Outside of Subaru a series 8 FD RX7 is what I would go for. Or a 260RS.

+1 on the RX-7. ;)

I don't see what the big hate factor is on the bug eyes. They're not the best-looking Subaru, but not the worst. Just change the headlights to STi ones and you're laughing. ;)

Would only buy a sti if it was a bug. Could maybe tolerate it since it's fast..

Otherwise I'm thinking Nissan :) nice clean r34 perhaps.

I love rx7s. Pricey I'm guessing.

Not as pricey as you think. ;)

More expensive to run and maintain though.

Damn Wankel engine... but yeah... very nice cars..

Skyline R34 is a damn nice choice...

Why not a V35? Thats within the price range too... but maybe a little too lux and less racer??

I also own a GEN3 Liberty.
I actually.. really enjoy driving it. I've driven so so many cars, seeing as I work at an automotive group.

comparing it to other naturally aspirated 4 cylinder.. nothing stacks up quite as nice.

So I've always thought.. wouldn't it be nice to have what I have now but with a turbo?

Well, after reading some of the well informed posts on this thread.. I've definitely decided that's a big NO*.

*If your seeking a substantial power increase. (full respect to all B4 owners!)

I would buy a bug eye if I didn't have to look at it.

Some of these look good to me;

I beg to differ...

Sure Al does a good job, but its not that difficult to do a conversion yourself aside from possible wiring changes (just time consuming). Even a stock B4 engine is chalk and cheese compared to the N/A 2.5. Throw in some basic mods and tune for E85 for some more punch. Obviously some people have had issues with B4s in the past though and if your looking for big power your better to start with an STI.

I quite like the bugeye too actually (more love than hate in this thread by the looks)...

Oh and if your happy with <200kw the b4 is actually a great drivers car both around town and on the open road. If you cant learn to drive around the VOD (which can nearly be eliminated entirely)... you should be looking for a Volvo instead

I have a turbo volvo for sale at the moment. But its actually a Nissan.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

I love the way it feels when the secondary opens up on an open road. tbh. But I didn't buy mine expecting miracles and did the research on them before making the decision. At the time I only had RX money and stumbled on a decent one! lol. But with $15k you can do better power wise these days, for $10k they are great value. My cousin picked up an Evo 8 for $17k in NSW, only to smash it 2 weeks later. So enjoy what you have etc :P

I think I'm just going to keep an eye out and test drive a few potential cars, if I really like it for the price I'll pick it up.

And yes those bugeyes look alright, might struggle to afford one.
