Hey guys…..

Been lurking for a while now and decided that I’d come out and play        ;)

I’m on my first year of green P’s and decided to get a new car. I considered something European but was reminded of servicing, reliability issues, and parts for the year models in my price range. So I decided to play it safe and stick with the Japanese.

After owning an 01 impreza RX 2.0 auto sedan I became set on getting another impreza. Waiting for the right car wasn’t fun, and being let down seeing cars wasn’t much fun either. A 2006 impreza sedan 2.0 manual lux came up and decided to have a look even though it was a tad out of my price range. We arrived at the dealer and another car caught my eye.A 2008 hatch impreza parked next to the dealer, I had never even considered one because of the price and it didn’t have any sale stickers and looked like a car owned by someone so I didn’t think anything of it…

After looking at the 06 I was still reminded it was out of my price range. We mentioned it to the dealer before leaving and he decided to mention they just got a new car in. It was the 08 hatch…. I didn’t get my hopes up much because I knew it would a bit of money. It happened to be $10,000… this was a little more than I was hoping to spend but less than the one we had just looked at. We had a look at it was a little rough around the edges (couple of dents, and scratches) along with that the previous owner decided they didn’t need to service the car after 58,000,kms (the car now has 110,000kms) So those are the reasons for the price.  Even with those cons I still wanted it.

After a test drive we found nothing wrong with it. So to cut the story short I picked the car up a week later   :D

http://www.redbook.c...r&Ridx=0&eapi=2

A problem is I have an automatic license (I never had the opportunity to drive a manual so don’t blame me) and just bought a manual car

I’m pretty competent with it now driving myself around and risking the fine of “driving un licensed” I plan to get my license after some more practice.

KEEN to start modding! (I’m in a bit of debt right now so no major mods until I’m paid off)

I’m definitely open  to any suggestions anyone has, I’m on P’s for 3 more years so its N/A for me so performance will never be great.

  •  INTERIOR (any other suggestions?)
  • Change all lights to white
  • Foot well lights
  • Head unit to double din screen
  • Change peddles
  • Feel like I need to do something with the amount of plastic trim everywhere
  • Floor matts

  • EXTERIOR (any other suggestions?)
  • WRX wheels (done) $750 and I need new tread for them
  • Tint (done)
  • DE badge (done)
  • DE chrome (done)
  • Sticker for rear window
  • Front grill to wrx
  • Side skirts
  • Fog lights with change of front bumper
  •  Ez lip
  • Wrx rear diffuser
  • Paint calipers?

  • OTHER (any other suggestions?)
  • Headers from old impreza (yet to install)
  • Had high flow muffler from old car but I’m unsure if it will fit so might need new one for dual exhaust when I get wrx rear bumper
  • Front + Rear sway bars
  • Coilovers
  • New tread

Hello and welcome! Good write up.

Being an NA don't bother touching the engine. Just start with cosmetic mods (within reason) and work on getting it to handle the corners better.

Welcome to Subyclub - car looks good.

Do you have to retake the test to be able to drive manual even if you're on greens?

Hello and welcome

The Vic/Melbourne crew is starting to gain momentum. You're on notice NSW :P

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I am not sure either....I thought if you were on your greens you didn't have to. Someone on here might be able to help out...I had an automatic licence and drove manual on my entire Greens had heaps of breath test and no one ever said anything.

Would you consider selling your old muffler from your old car?

unfortunately I think I do but I would really rather not :/

"Removing the condition
If you are still on your probationary licence with an automatic transmission restriction the only way you can remove this condition is to pass a test in a vehicle with manual transmission."

I'll probably end up selling it yeah, most likley wont work with the new car very easily

Im pretty sure its only a 180 fine if you get caught driving manual on an auto license. Imo if you can drive a manual safely i doubt you'd get done for it unless the cop was having a bad day.

Ive never really been a fan of that model impreza but this one looks pretty good.

Yeah it is, finally haha. We meet every week on Thursdays at the Burwood Coles/Kmart for a feed and a chat if you can make it :)

Loud?

I had it setup with headers so I never actually heard it by its self, it wont be loud enough for the police to care but loud enough to put a smile on your face

Croydon Hills, literally a stone throw away from me in North Ringwood! Let us know if you need any help with car related things. Have majority of my head around Subaru's now haha. If you need a hand with the footwell lights, just let us know. I did DIY right up in the DIY section on here. Should have all the info you need :) Do red tint overlay to, looks mad IMO.
