Yep. DIY.

A few years ago, I knew nothing.

Then I internetted and DIY'd.

Now people come to me to fix their cars.

Shut up Josh.

I am going to cut your throat and rub chilli in your eyes while you slowly bleed to death, then heal you and do it again.

Honestly, start getting your hand dirtys and DIY. The money you save on labour buys parts...that's how I see it. If I had paid to get all the work done on my cars over the years that I have done myself, I'd be at least $10k out of pocket and would have $10k less parts :D

That is the plan Pete... just would feel a little better if I had a run around car just incase something went wrong with me getting my hands dirty...

I just like keeping the logbook up to date as I know it's something people look for when buying a car. It's something I look for as well. If work is done at home, I won't be able to get it stamped off each service.

Yeah, but when you do it youself, you know EXACTLY what has been done and to a standard at which you are happy.

You might have a great mechanic who has a similar standard to you but most don't.

Haha.

But you're Josh.

I actually enjoy helping people. Plus I love working on cars.

People always come over, park their car in the garage and we work on it for the day.

Mates, cars, beer. Goot times

Pete, whilst I will not debate the car, it looks fantastic, I will buy a Hyundai before I buy another Subaru.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

This^

Quite novel for me...I get a buzz out of being useful. Helping mates save cash is always good karma too, but I agree it sucks ballz working on the only car you have/need. That's when shit goes pear-shaped...errytime.

Weird thing to say.

Huyndai's are seriously terrible cars. Even the new ones.

Sister is hopefully buying this Subaru tonight after selling her Lancer last weekend.

Disagree Morgs.

Elnas 2013 i30 is one of the best cars I've driven. WAY better then the 2013 Subarus.

Better value for money, better warranties, better fuel economy, and I dare say, better build quality.

Take a new one for a drive. You will be VERY surprised.

We drove Impreza, Mazda 3, Lancer, and a few other cars, and the i30 trumped every single one of them.

I must say that I don't mind the looks of the i40 or the Genesis...

Is there any way of getting log booking done without taking it to a certified mechanic? I'd love to do everything myself but the log booking is the main reason why I get my servicing done with the boys at ICHIban.

Your mate finally learnt how to take a straight photo :P

Except now he needs to work on car placement, or photoshop.

2P sign poking out of the rear window is something to look out for...

Of course, but the buyer won't. And that could mean the difference between selling the car.

Thing is, if they see how well the car is looked after, and if you're honest, they tend to believe you. With every car I've sold, people ALWAYS comment on how well looked after they are.

Plus, if I show them the large pile of used oil containers behind the shed, they'll have to believe me!!!

For sure! I know mate, If a mate asked me for help working on their car I would do it for sure - just finding the time is often difficult, I think I just found a point where I don't find it that exciting any more, I have been mucking about on cars since before I can remember, so more a task now.. a few jobs I don't mind but they are few and far between.

My opinion on Hyundai's will in no way impede my loan application will it Shaz? If so, I love them and will be using most of the money I borrow to source an excellent, low Km's model.
