Nearly done!

Just have to re-attach the AT lines to the radiator and pop the heat shield back in, drop whatever oil gunk is in it and put the battery back in. And here's hoping the battery isn't dead.

I've run out of cash for engine and radiator juice but should get that sorted through the week.

Then. once it's all ready, (attempt) to turn it over and see what happens!

Just can't help being paranoid that it's going to leak out of everywhere. Checked all the hoses and replaced hose clamps where I saw fit, here's hoping!

Nice work mate, should try to borrow a battery charger to make sure the it's good when the time comes to start it.

It always seems to take waaaaaay less time to put it all back together again than opposed to pulling it out.

Took me a few days in total to pull it out in a leisurely pace but like less than a day to get it where it is now!

In hindsight I'm kinda wishing I took tomorrow off to finish it up, but alas, really need the PH rates at work tomorrow. Still have my sisters car for a bit as she's off to Thailand soon, so if there's some creases to iron out I have a back up car.

I just can't help being paranoid about the gearbox oil seal. I tapped it in there nice and snugly, flush with where it seats. I actually even had a dream last night that I drove it to work and it leaked AT juice the whole way!

Can't really get it wrong though, right? It went in tightly and it's evenly in? I noticed it was a double lip seal so I packed the groove with grease.

Mission accomplished!

Got the wife to get some engine and cooling juice, plus a new filter, while I was at work today. This saved me a week of waiting for which I was very grateful.

Cursed and swore at the old filter attached to the engine for about 20mins as the sucker just wouldn't come off. Hammer + screwdriver later, out she comes. Slapped in a new one, popped in some oil and coolant and hoped for the best.

Battery had half a crank in it so I nicked the battery from my sisters Lancer and gave it a res. Straight away it fired into life! Had a very light knock on the bottom end but it shut up pretty quickly. I expected that given I had no idea on how long it's been sitting around for.

Gave the cooling system a good bleed, got concerned when the heater wouldn't blow hot air but the rad fans were on full swing. Opened up the cap and let a big burp of air out and she came good, sits stable and blows nice hot air.

Nothing leaked, no AT problems, a bit smokey but to be expected after the time I spent cleaning it all up. Gave it a hoot around the block and no bad noises or irregular behavior.

I was too scared at this stage to open it onto the secondary but I'll take it to work tomorrow (provided it has enough charge to start) and stretch it's legs.

All in all, a good result so far!

Thanks to everyone who helped along the way and for your kind words of encouragement. It's been a while since I had done all this (It nearly used to be monthly on the Gen2 GTB!) and the AT thing was a bit of a snag but I got there.

Win!

Awesome news Jimbo, glad she's up and running again.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Hard to tell yet Dave, only went for a light drive around the block at 10psi max, didn't even touch the secondary!

Will open it up tomorrow on the way to work, see how she's feeling!
