Thanks for all the help and compliments guys. I have to apologise for being naive and if I ask dumb questions. I'm starting from the bottom and don't have anyone in my family or even mates who have subies, so forums are a great help.

Looks like I've got a lot to think about then, cost is also an issue - I'm happy to settle for 'good enough' I don't drive my car particularly hard, but sometimes I get a bit spirited through corners.

So I guess now the search is on for billies and STI pinks or kings - so these need to be imported or can I get them locally?

Either that or BC coilovers, I think Ichiban has them?

ICHIban do sell BC coilovers. As for the Bilstein and STi spring set up, I'm not entirely sure. If the Gen IV assemblies can fit the Gen III then that may be an option too may be?

I decided to check if my cluster would fit today and discovered the plugs were different - I'm guessing because of A-C and D-E revision differences ... So I'll have to wait to get a harness made up or find some d-e plugs and re-pin with the existing loom.

That does look like a good buy but I'm worried it might sit a Bit too low.

I'm going to wait till my lip goes on and then decide how low I really want it.

Toby, your wagon is awesome. Gen3 is where it's at. The spats that Nick has for sale (around post #4, first page) will go very well and make a big difference for low cost. Last comment is that you can get Gen3 bilsteins + sti springs for around $350 delivered. Remember that wagon and sedan are different. If you're on yahooJP, look for BH5 (not BE5). Gen4 doesn't fit.

Hello again!

Thanks for the suggestions Mark and church

Here's an update pic - has now got the full B4 front end conversion

9fc26d4a7aac8426d5f2179de185d7be.jpg

Getting the legacy wing put on tomorrow and then that will basically be it for body mods unless I find a cool rear bar or decide to fit spats.

Mod wise it's going to be quiet for a while, looking for an STI genome muffler still which would be my next major thing.

Apart from that it's got rego coming up soon so I'll be getting LCA bushes done etc

Cheers.

Toby

Looking really nice mate. Well done.

Take Mark's advice. He knows exactly what he's talking about when it comes to buying anything from Import Monster. :D

Hey guys, it's been a while so I thought I'd share an update.

Since last time I've now got the GTB wing, STI genome muffler which fixed the terrible drone of a straight through.

Also got rid of the boaty stock suspension and am now on T&R coilovers.

Have sort of swayed away from the WRX idea and am looking at EZ30D with a 5 manual behind it, or finding a gen 4 wreck so I can get the EZ30R and 6 speed manual however as I understand these will require aftermarket ecu and throttle body due to electronic throttle.

Anyway if anyone wants to share opinion on the H6 and which one I should go for feel free.

Not looking for massive horsepower just want a bit more grunt and speed compared to the EJ25. How do the 6s pull up hills? The ej is gutless haha. Anyone got some 0-100 times?

Cheers

Looking good mate. Good ol' ICHIban shot. :P

I can't speak much for the manual Gen IV's, but I've got an automatic 3.0R SpecB wagon and cannot fault it. I've had the car for a couple of years now and it's never turned me down. The only thing I've had to do was replace an engine but that was more due to an overheating issue than faulty engine parts. Going down the EZ30R route would be awesome and you won't regret it. I still get the same kicks driving my car today as I did the day I bought it.

Cam will most likely shed some light as he did the same for his Gen III wagon some time ago.
