I'm planning on also re running all the vaccine lines in the car, and cleaning out the BBOD for maintenance as they're old and shitty. Just curious if someone could tell me if all the hoses are the same size? ID or OD. Also wondering is there anywhere specifically I should go, or is supercheap good enough?

Cheers

Supercheap by the reel. Just bring some hose in with you to compare size. Dont skimp on how much you buy!

I walked in and bought the whole reel last time I did it all lel

10m of 4mm, 1m of 6mm, and you can do the BBOD and the entire engine bay.

btw Pat are you interested in an RSK interior? F + R seats and doorcards?

Thanks Mark,
Well I already have a set I got from Ichiban in my RX I just need the drivers seat now haha. How much are you chasing? I'm pretty sure the front seat is the same trim.

Sweet!

I wondered why a dude driving a Pug would have been so interested in it. He gunned it pretty hard to catch up with me!

Yeah, he's a top dude, Subaru fanatic but decided to try something else with the golf, it's an awesome car. He also has one of the cleanest NA8 MX5's I've seen.

Sorry to be a seagull. But if you only want the drivers I'll grab the passenger and the door cards.

I'm happy to part with just a front seat, can anyone confirm the front seats are the same for sedan and wagon?

Oh cool. I'll be putting it up for $300 for all seats and doorcards. I've got some time off work coming up and want to fit the RS30 leather interior before advertising - RSK interior is almost mint and the RS30 is around 'very good condition'. Couple of creases in the leather, some drivers bolster wear, etc. so I first want to fit the RS30 kit and see how annoying the imperfections are before I sell the RSK parts. :D

So last night I decided to pull the intercooler off and start looking at fixing the engine up a bit. There looked to be a small oil leak underneath or intercooler. Took it apart and I removed the heat shields to the turbos. (The passenger side heat shield was a joke) but I couldn't really figure out what was leaking, the oil lines and the funny looking bolts that connected to the turbos were dry as (also didn't realise how tiny the turbos are haha ) so I cleaned everything up so I could look for something. Checked the dipstick to the transmission and there was no oil in there at all lmao, so maybe could be transmission oil as the engine oil hasn't gone down at all since my service.

Found this strange cap thing and I took some pictures of them. dceeddad3d0d9f5392e519bad432c739.jpg121412412813e91140f32cb015121572.jpg looks like it goes into where the transmission connects to the engine (I don't really know) but the cap was sorta just hanging off it. I tried to clip it back in but it doesn't feel firm. Does anyone know what it is, and what I should do with it?

Secondly, there was a bunch of silicone I found f57170d95f6b884852001306e98a3426.jpg it was on the end of a plastic T which went into the plastic pipe that connects the two turbos. 4fd31fc149479832c879431cdfaeaa15.jpg I cleaned it up and sorta tried to push it back into the groove for it, but I'm not sure if it want in.

Has anyone seen or had a problem with this pipe before.

Thanks in advanced. Gonna suss it back out again when I get some more time to work on the car.

The cap hoes in that hole correct. Its the flywheel inspection hole/Where you jam a screw driver to lock the engine to crack the crank bolt or undo the torque converter. It just sits in there.

As for the boogered up silicone id say its the PCV joiner. Pretty common for them to be fubar as they get hot and crack and so on
