Hey guys!

My name's Lockie and this is my Gen 3 RX I bought on 21/05/2017.

Overview

Don't let the photo deceive you. The body isn't great; it has the following imperfections:

  • Back bumper is broken on the right hand side, seems to have pushed the ass end of the body forward. (Of course noticed this after I got it home). The right side back door doesn't line up right and takes a bit more of a shove to close and the boot may leak as there's water under the spare wheel. (Sadly). Heard it can be fixed by stretching the body but it comes at a large cost.
  • Has 2 dents on the front left guard. Not too serious but will fix them (or just get a new guard if need be).
  • A golf ball size dent on the front passenger door that I'm not really too fussed about.
  • Shitty pain on the wing and roof. Stone chips and scratches most places, could do with a polish.
  • 270,000km. Not sure if that's soooo bad, would have preferred a lower Km version but couldn't find any in my price range. All belts and gaskets are new so I'll trust it. Besides I drove it about 140km home after buying.

I love the power - I'm 16 and not even on my P licence. Aaaaand previously owned a KE30 Rolla paddock basher and a Holden Gemini (power houses I know). It's so comfy! I love how smooth it rides and the seats are really nice. Interior is in amazing condition for the Km. Whole car is stock that I definitely know of.

Mods

Current - none I know of. May have aftermarket speakers, as 2 of the screw caps in the door cards are missing and the speakers actually sound really good, like actually really good.

Wish List:

  • Exhaust
  • Strut braces
  • Coilovers or B4 shocks & springs.
  • Nice 18x7 wheels. (Might paint the stock ones white/gold/black and calipers red).
  • Replace all bumpers or guards.
  • CAI
  • Stereo
  • B4 Leather seats
  • MCM Chopped fingers sticker on the back of course.

OR MAYBE

  • Delete above engine mods and insert Forester GT engine.

Thanks for reading guys! Hope you like my first Suby.

Gotta love the GenIII RX spec lib. They are indeed a smooth ride ;)

Have you done much to it since your post?

Cheers

Hi and welcome to SC.

Looks pretty good for a 270K car.

Some of ya mods will be good.

First thing to fit is a proper rear sway bar.

Forget the CAI as it will do nothing.

Foz turbo swap can be done, but budget 5 - 8k.

Hey man, I also bought myself a gen3 RX for my first car about 2 months ago as a 16 y.o. How are you finding yours? I was worried about the kms on mine and when I bought it it was sitting at 220000. Looks nice though man, would love to hear how you've modified it so far
