Silicon will be better Barbs, its not a connection under pressure, so it just needs to seal.

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Long weekend so had plenty of time to do things this weekend. Started on friday with a trip to the local wreckers for as many hose separator clips as i could find.

0uss28c.jpg

While in the area i decided to invest in a proper gas setup for my welder so picked up a regulator and some 5/2 Mig gas, not 100% sure what it is exactly but the results speak for itself on some scrap
ONgotoR.jpg
With this new found confidence i decided to have a go at adding some AN weld ons to my intake instead of getting a local to do it.
c6WZWR0.jpg
Super happy with the result

I also cannibalised my intake for the steel 90 bend and bought a replacement alloy 90 from autobarn. I used the steel bend to make a very rough dump pipe to at least get the exhaust on its way out of the bay instead of straight out of the turbo
O9edfd8.jpg

On sunday i had sort of run out of things to do without parts so got stuck into hacking up the bumper and this is the result

Good enough for now

After removing the rest of the stock exhaust and the HKS muffler and installing the new exhaust i noticed a bend in the diff back piping was about the right shape to connect the dump to the rest of the exhaust. Got very lucky and it fitted perfectly.
ChO2t4X.jpg
So dump pipe is plumbed back in and made by yours truely :D. Was a pretty good feeling to say i made my own dump pipe. With that done and some more finalising it was ready for a test drive...

Oh yeah thats the good shit

Sounds mint!

Time to learn to video holding the camera in portrait “mode”. Don’t worry, Mrs El_Freddo has this same issue!

Yeah I know. I’m just passionate/OCD about filming from a phone in landscape format.

I like your invisible strut brace!

Good looking engine bay. With the catch cans, I thought one was meant to be between the block and the PCV valve - or have I got something incorrect?

Bennie

That side strut brace mount hits the wastegate actuator as its got the brake master brace built in.

When the PCV is open its not on boost so not breathing hard and its fine to go straight into the engine. When the PCV valve shuts on boost and the engine is breathing it goes via a catch can back to the inlet.

Wideband back in and thankfully the sensor is still alive after like 2 years and living on the workbench for the last few weeks. Still laugh at it saying poo when you start up
qQredj0.png

Turned the boost up a bit still happy AFRs
j3LlCZF.png

Also replaced the passenger side sundial seal which wasnt the most fun job but no more gearbox oil leaks. Id like to say the car is done now but we all know thats a lie

Another load of spice finally arrived from Japan. This one has been a while coming as the importer very nicely let me hold it with him for an extra month while my partner was out of work due to COVID. Anyway onto the spice

Fancy heat shield
nUk26Ms.jpg

And a old school 60mm boost gauge for the vent. Using the camp and having to look down mid pull to read boost isnt ideal

I wonder if i like HKS stuff lol

Looks like you need a 60mm vent gauge holder
