Hi,

Not sure yet, probably about 5/10kg into a 25kg bill.

Will have to do a bit more research though.

I bought 300kg of pale malt.

I'm ramping this bitch up mate. Beer.

Cheers,
Nik

Do you have a name for your brewing? You probably told me what it was but I would most likely have been getting drunk at the time.

@Jesse: They are OK mate. Good fun. Pretty point and shoot, can't really go wrong. Much better and rewarding if you do the brew, and indulge in a kegerator setup like Lukosh has.

What are your local bottle shops? Any of them online? We've been recommending beers to people for a while now through the net... maybe if you find a local to you that has a site we can get you on your way to real ale!

Cheers,
Nik

Local Bottle shops to me are Dan Murphy's and Thirsty Camel. There are some independent's around as well but I'm not sure what they are called, I'll check it out and get back to you.

Cheers :drinks:

Hi,

No dramas mate. What do you drink right now? If you went to buy a carton without thinking about anyone else, or cost, what would it be?

And don't lie! I'll know!

:D

Cheers,
Nik

Lol umm probably a carton of TED platinums or Stella, today it would be Stella because I want to chill and drink, not just get wasted.

How are the try-out (?) packs that have 6 different beers in them? Usually all crap beer? Good beer? or depends on the pack?

Hi,

Yeah, usually crap. Grab yourself a sixer of Squires Golden/Amber Ale - tell us what you think and report back. If you want something else, get some FatYak, maybe just a couple, that can even be too hoppy for someone stepping into bigger beers.

Just so we're clear, Stella isn't beer, nor is TED's. Tooheys New is on the right path, Tooheys Old I quite like.

Cheers,
Nik

Ok, I won't bother with the taster packs then.

I'll give the Squires a go tonight and let you know. Stella and TED's are what I have been exposed to so just used to them I guess.

When I was in Melbourne, my brother in law and I tried different things each week which was good, but I'm not sure what alot of it was.

There was Peroni's, not really a fan.

James Boags, was too watery for me IIRC.

Hi,

For reference, they are usually a Crownie, a Steinlager, a Heineken, Monteiths, Rabbit (if you're lucky) and a Corona.

Long story short, stay away.

Cheers,
Nik

I've seen different packs that look like they have Euro looking beers in them.

Just got a 6 pack of Squires Golden Ale and a 6 Pack of Fat Yak pale ale.

Now which one to try first and I imagine it's much better to have it in a glass rather than bottle.
