Funnily enough, I first heard about this on the Ironlak blog a couple of months ago then last week one of my team riders from Melbourne dropped past the office and put a case of it on my desk. Don’t know why it took me so long to get it home but I’m happy I finally did.

Anywho, Ive had some rather tasty ones recently. Renaissance APA, Brewdog Paradox ( both smokehead and Isle of Anan), Nogne O Two Captains double IPA and Moo Brew Pale.
Renaissance APA was awesome I thought. I think the style has been captured really well, but with some definate NZ influences.
Brewdog Paradox really speaks for itself. The Smokehead was very different for me. Ive not had a smoked stout/ale before. I think I mentioned to Richo the other day that I thought it was like a Bucks night in a bottle. A bit like having a beer, a whiskey and a Cigar all at once. Ilse of Aran is rediculous. I'd love to finish every day with one. Im a big fan of stouts and to me that one is simply perfect. The high alcohol glow is plesant too.
Two Captains double IPA was initial a bit strong for my liking, but as I got further through it, my palate toughened up and I really enjoyed it.
Moo Brew Pale was also good drinking. Although I didnt manage to pour it without getting a monster head regardless of what glass it went in to. Id rate it as better than Wicked Elf Pale if not for the overflowing head.
Thats my latest beer exploits.
Going to start homebrewing now. I'll start with one of those basic kits and as my knowledge expands I'll move into Brew in a bag I think. Id like to go 3 vessel all grain, but I could never happily "get by" with what my budget could allow at home after seeing and helping out with Nik's set up.
Cheers
Brett.
Sig worthy.
