The crappy iphone pics are probably due to low light. I know mine takes really grainy pics like that when there isnt enough ambient light.
Personally i like a few yeasty/hops floaties in my beer. Particularly home brew. If it tastes good I wouldnt bother.

Been going on a bit of a mission lately to try as many different "styles" as I can find. Lambic, Saison and Scotch ale (the two Ive had have both been pretty bloody nice) are the most out of ordinary that Ive had so far.

The Grove Vineyards Sublime Milk Stout is also drinking mighty fine too. Especially the carbed ones ;)

Why are so many breweries afraid to have bold flavours? Even the so called craft brewers. Ive tried a number of "Pale ale's" that just dont have anything going on. Vale Ale is one that comes to mind. Gets a lot of press, but failed to stir anything but middle of the road, ho hum from me.

Sig worthy.

Hi,

Seems the Sublime stout is in high demand... you'll need to get someone to deliver you a Sublime Stout Pie - highest selling menu item over the weekend! - I am not scared of flavour. I can't wait for the 27th.

:D

Thanks for the chat tonight!

Cheers,
Nik

No worries brother brewer. Yeah last week in June is going to be awesome. Ive been doing my best to cellar what SMS I have, but they keep calling out to me. I will definitely cellar a 6er till next winter though.
So no go with getting the whiskey ale in the PRBS?

Sig worthy.

Having AB:05 currently

Its really sweet and smells almost of a good dark chocolate bar. Very very mellow for a 12.5% brew.

Masive drink. I've split it with my boss, we're both saying "wow" alot.

Found this "review"

Bottle 1247/3600. Pours thick black with a nice brown head, dissipating quickly. Aroma has dark chocolate, dark fruits, cocoa, lots of roast, belgian yeast qualitites with brown sugar, dark fruits, lots of sweetness, a hint of vanilla, wood and coconut. Taste has quite some belgian yeasty notes to it, dark fruits, toasted/burned sugar, really syrupy, lots of sweetness, cocoa, milk chocolate, sweet liquorice, vanilla, amaretto. Nice tasting, but a lot on the sweet side.

That... just play down the yeast

and this bottle is 362

sounds bloody lovely. Added to the "to drink" list.

4 Pines Stout was an enjoyable drink. Not the best stout ever by any means, but as a dark beer that you could enjoy several of, and without handing over a vital organ to pay for them, I thought it was pretty good. Perhaps a tad too carbonated for my preference, but that probably helped with it not being to heavy.

Mountain Goat Steam Ale - Did nothing for me really. Couldnt even give you any idea of how it tasted, because to be honest the was no taste. Id rather by Oettinger Pils and save myself some money for a decent brew.

Looks like we'll be brewing an ESB at work next week. Based loosely on Bateman's XXXB. Maris Otter, fuggles, EKG and possibly dry hopped with Challenger. The description in Michael Jackson's Beers of the world book sounds pretty nice.

Sig worthy.

I had exactly the same thought when I tried it.. however, I was standing next to their WA rep at the time and was too polite to say "I can't really taste anything". It really has no taste at all, its odd

I just tried the Nail Ale Outmeal stout which is on tap at Clancy's, pretty god damn good I have to say. Apparently he doesn't make it all the time so it was a good time to try it.

Oatmeal stout is up my street, especially this time of year. You need to come and have a whisky beer, properly. New glasses are in.

My birthday is on the 12th, so we might work around that? Maybe the weekend of the 10th? Are you confined to weekends? What's good for you guys? I know Amslix will have just started his new job - so probably a no go'er for him (*****).
