Hi,

Sounds like a plan to me. Pize is keen to try a Kolsch 'style' brew.

Cheers,
Nik

Kolsch "style". For some reason I always thought kolsch was a lager of sorts.

Im introducing some of my good mates to proper beer tomorrow. A nice selection.

Koorinda Pale ale - on advice from the boys at Cellarbrations Carlisle
Stone brewing IPA
Nogne O two Captains 2IPA (Nik you can have the bottle when its empty)
Innis and Gunn Oak conditioned ale
Welhaven Wee Heavy Sottish ale
Rogue Mocha Porter
Saison Du Pont
Brew Dog Tokyo

Not sure what Im looking forward to more. Tonights Perth Royal Beer Show awards dinner, or tomorrows little session.

Sig worthy.

My birthday is on the 12th, so we might work around that? Maybe the weekend of the 10th? Are you confined to weekends? What's good for you guys? I know Amslix will have just started his new job - so probably a no go'er for him (*****).

Yeah man, I have the 9th/10th off. Although 7am start on 11th, weee

Nah Richo, the Blue one is a stout of some sort. Was tempted to get that one, but i had well and truly blown the budget by then. Some updates on that little bunch. Firstly I'll address the mispelt/misnamed beers. Its Kooinda Pale ale and its bloody lovely. Unfiltered, quite sweet, but big hops character to balance the sweetness and a nice dry finish. Id rate it with Sierra Navada for my preference. Also at $14 for a 4 pack its reasonably priced.
Belhaven Wee Heavy Scottish ale - was mint. Very malty, nice and creamy and full bodied.
Didnt get round to trying the Rogue mocha Porter, but that may get consumed tonight.

BrewDog Tokyo - Not entirely sure words do it justice. I might just buy one of those when I go to party from now one. Saves carrying a sixer. I just got a barrage of licorice from it, which is cool because I love licorice.

Best drinking beers at the Awards dinner, where definitely Ferals Hop Hog and MASH's Scotch Ale. Monk's Mild was a nice spacer for between Scotchy's.
I think they got their beer/food matchings a bit arse about though. Id have rathered a Monk Mild with the main and the Scotch Ale with the Tiramisu.
Swan Draught took out champion Lager. WTF!!!! I think Jeremy was a little confused by that decision. We only managed a Silver and a Bronze, but we've got some new beers in the making which should hopefully get us in the mix again.

Thanks for clearing up the Kolsch fermenting Nik.

Sig worthy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Tokyo, and I'm not a huge licorice fan . I just picked up a Sierra Navada porter. Will post opinions once drunk ---- I mean, once I've drank it.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

I grabbed a 6'er of the SN pale. Glad this time it wasn't rooted. its quite well ballanced, but I dunno. I think I'm too spoilt by massivly hopped IPA's or thick and nasty stouts. I prefere to grab a 4 can pack of PunkIPA if im having a few session brews

Punk is good, but SN pale is better for a session I think. Both good good beers though.
