Doombar: omg loving it soooo much. Pretty sure it's brewed by Sharpes in Cornwall UK.
SpIcy, raisins, forest fruits(?), toffee, low carbonation. Just amazing.

Sig worthy.

Wingwalker Pale ale - from New York state.
American pale ale. Not so upfront, in your face hoppy as SN pale, but pleasant all the same. Nice sweet malt backbone to it. My initial thought was melanoidin, but it's too pale for that. Hops are resiny and piney.
4.8% which is low for an APA.
$16.99 for a sixer from Dan's.

Sig worthy.

So dropped in to Westbrew on my way home. Managed to be there at the same time Dave (albino looking chap) was visiting. Had a chat and turns out he's one of the tasters for craft brew awards or some shit? Knows nik and brett.

Seems like a interesting bloke.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Yep another fat yak style kit. Just pitched the yeast for it a few mins ago, came in right on OG for what it should have too, 1043.

Aiming for 1011-1013.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Plenty of body in it then.

Nik I reckon I've found a wheat beer you'd actually like.
Wingwalker Belgian Wheat Ale. Basically very hoppy. It's pretty much an APA made with wheat. The wheat is only really noticeable on the finish. But in a pleasant malty way. Theres the wheat tartness too but that just adds to the refreshing hop flavours.

Sig worthy.

Also bought a couple of others I havent had before.

Mad brewers - Hoppy Hefe

Magic Hat (US) - Not so Pale Ale.

I'll be drinking these tonight.

I also picked up a sixer of Coopers Dark Ale. Not bad. Probably wont buy again though.

Sig worthy.

So I tried a new beer tonight

Brooklyn Brand East India Pale Ale.

It's....okay. At 6.9% it's pretty full on but certainly doesn't taste 6.9%.

Maybe, 3/5 stars.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

had Custard cider and ginger cider.. had a sip of each and they went down the drain. Not sure if it was a bad bottle or just the style but I wasn't sold

Brewdog/Lost Abbey" Lost Dog" - Rum Barrel Aged Imperial Porter

Roasty toasty malt, vanilla (I'm guessing the barrel ageing is kicking in here), slight chocolate hint. Hint of the 11.5% is there. Raisins too.

I don't think I could tell you it was a rum barrel, but most definitely has a barrel agedness ...... yeah..

Fairly light mouth feel oddly.

The taste is much the same as the aroma, however its quite sweet

Both of those sound interesting.
Looking forward to tasting the Cheeky Monkey range of beers tomorrow night. And maybe the ciders too. But mostly the beers.

Sig worthy.

It is quite possibly the most homosexual name for a brewery ever.

Hi,

And, this is what it looks like;

Posted Image

All in favour of calling it 'The Chimp' ? Heading to the Chimp for a cheeky pint sounds a lot better than heading to the cheeky monkey for a chimp pint.

Cheers,
Nik
