Australia's largest locally-owned brewer, Coopers Brewery, has burst into the American home brew market after buying the largest home brew brand in the United States, Mr Beer, in a move that could consolidate Coopers at the top of the global home brew market.

The Quiet American. With all respect to our American friends, that's a mistake right? Surely, a contradiction in terms... but somehow, the perfect way to describe our latest Single Batch, a highly hopped Belgian / US Hybrid Ale, as contradictive in style as it is in name.
The new world order of brewing, led by the abundance of bold, aromatic US hops has inspired us since day one, but there is something very intriguing about the traditional brewing style of the Trappist monks - quietly and thoughtfully rolling out barrels of rich, flavourful and malty ales for centuries...
With bag loads of new season US Cascade and Chinook hops, select Belgian specialty malts, a fruity Belgian yeast and some classic candied sugar to top it all off, we've melded the old and the new schools of brewing in creating this full flavoured ale balanced with a thought provoking bitterness.
Try the first keg on us on Tuesday April 24th here in Freo from 4pm or at the Dining Hall in Melbourne from 4.30pm or read on for more on where to find it near you

Quite tasty, very hoppy (as the above description suggests).
Shame they only sell it in middy's, this could be very session drinkable.

We went to LC's on ANZAC day. We were sat at a table for 45 minutes and got no service. They were getting smashed. So busy. But still.
Cheeky Monkey's Belgian IPA on the other hand is bang on the money.
