Hi,

I'm sending them an email to confirm that pro head will fit, if it does, I'll let you know!

Cheers for the link.

Looks fuckin' awesome; ORDERED!

Only thing is it probably locks me in to using their line?

Cheers,
Nik

thats all i'm worried about Nik, how long does the line last, especially against concrete edges!

I'm on the lookout for a new trimmer head, as mine is good at tangling and welding line together!

Also, haha

I was at the Auckland boat show on Saturday and saw your product. I hummed and hared but got one.
I tried it out today and it is AWESOME!! Easy to fit and great to use. Well done you guys. Weed eating is a very satisfying thing for a bloke to do. Your cutting head makes it easier as you can go for longer. You prolong and enhance the pleasure.
A very happy bloke

I dont think you would, i think you can buy normal line and just cut it to length but if not you could always buy a half or a kilos worth

Hi,

Those front deck machines are all sorts of awesome. Never been able to afford one... if I added up all the repairs/replacements on ride ons over the years I could probably get a council sized one!

Bugger on the LittlJuey - no stock of the HD aluminium item in Aus, so it's being sent from unZudz. I'll let you know how it goes though, guys!

Cheers,
Nik

Yeah they are quite expensive. The one pictured is a Toro groundsmaster 4000 which runs 7 blades and it used mainly to do the sides of main roads in suburbs where the tractor and slasher cant go.

But we also have smaller ones which would be great for people on property. the Toro Groundsmaster 360 is our little favourite, runs a 3 blade rear discharge 72" deck. Sone have 4 wheel steer which is great for going around trees and the tight stuff that the 4000 cant get to.

Or you can go a 7210 which is a skid steer setup and still uses the 72"rear discharge deck.

I wouldnt go a side discharge.

Hi,

How much does a used 360 go for? The headlands I can mow by tractor, but it's all the road sides etc. (just like you said) that I need the ride on for - right now I've got a fairly bloody domestic Husqy, and it's always like walking on eggshells trying not to hit rocks/large sticks etc.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

My LittlJuey arrived yesterday, and I am most pleased with it. If it were dry I probably would still be out there with it... so cool.

Infinite props to Portugal Apes. Seriously. This thing has changed my life. Ordered a second one so both of my brush cutters are equipped!

:)

So can you use standard lines in it Nik? How long to the lines last in it?

Hi,

You could use anything in it.

They sent some of their standard line with it, so that's what is pictured, but I also bought half a kilo of their top grade line which is BEASTY - seriously this thing is a great piece of kit.

I only cracked her open for about three minutes yesterday, just too wet out here... and I have a real job... but tomorrow... your arse is grass.

So I'll let you know, because I have a rock retainer wall on my veranda and I know you were worried about the line against concrete.

Cheers,
Nik

Okay guys.
I need to hang a gate!

Background; Gate was hung from a timber upright, but it had rotted through at the base, and was being held up by a failing timber fence that has since been replaced.

I want the gate in the same position, so I'm looking for options. I have a few ideas.

One is weld up a post and plate style mount, with say 100x100 RHS, A piece of 100 Channel, or 100x50 RHS on an 6-8mm steel base with 4 holes, dynabolted to the concrete.

OR

Some sort of stirrup, mounted to the concrete, either with the base plate, or a drilled hole and anchored into the ground with something? with a timber post mounted in the stirrup.

Gate is a farm style gate.

I saw at bunnings they have a prefab option 1, but its aluminium, and looks like 50x50 Square tube with a ~6mm base plate thats maybe 150X100. Which I think may be too flimsy. (maybe?)

Pics:

Where the gate will be hung
Posted Image

The hole in the concrete left by the old post. (I'm assuming its still in there) probably about 150 wide.

Finally, the other side of the gate.

I would prefer to have it open up against the fence so it's out of the way!

I would just use a hardwood post set in concrete on the hinge side and a two way (butterfly) gal gate latch on the closing side.

Mount the hinges before you set the post as quite often they need to be drilled through the post and you have little room against the fence.

The two way latch means it will be easier to open as you can always open it away from you from either direction.

Should be able to get this from your local farming supplier.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
