Heres my custom cat back from one of my local exhaust stores, 2.25" Cat back, plenty of little backfires and pops but a nice note to it

Aside from aesthetics are there any performance differences between a single or twin pipe set up? I'm looking at changing from the stock system on my car to a 2 1/4 catback but wasn't sure if twin pipes performed better.
