Yup, just confirmed it for myself. Lancasters get the same ultra dark garnish the Outbacks here get. I'll take one once I get my exhaust done.Yea we figured out mine is either a USDM one or one off a Legacy, rather than a Legacy Outback or Lancaster. The Lancasters definitely have a darker one and so do the JDM ones.
I dunno though, this one is kinda growing on me! It will stay until I find a darker one at the right price but I'm nit fussed if that's another 12 months away...

Shiv did it on his old RX and from memory he was saying water did get in and started to get in places it wasn't supposed to?

It was okay, it just evaporated on top of the gearbox. Problem was - crap started to develop on the throttle body.Shiv did it on his old RX and from memory he was saying water did get in and started to get in places it wasn't supposed to?
Sam - it wouldn't suit an Outback mate. Either go the whole way (like BobbyJimmy did) and have a super aggressive Outback. Or just keep her stock and enjoy it for what it is until you get something else.

a b4 bonnet won't let in to much water. in the usa the LGT's got a turbo bonnet even though they were n/a. i had a turbo bonnet on my car for almost 2 years before i did the conversion and no problems what so ever

Just not my cup of tea, mainly because it's what every Hyundai Excel owner does. (Except morgan
The Outback is a nice, refined touring wagon. The mods you're doing/have done look great. I think shaving bits off will look better than bolting non-useful bits on.
No offence to the guys that did/do put turbo bonnets on their N/A cars, but it's my biggest pet hate, second only to up-badging. Leave turbo bonnets for the turbo cars.
If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'
So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump?

I'll not only jump on your bonnet, I'll mosh on it to the entire Nirvana discography if you get one, and if its not turbo.
True story.

Spend your coin on decent mods. Like handling and suspension.

Yeah, who in their right mind would put a turbo bonnet on a non turbo wagon.

Cheers,
Shazza

Murphy's Law, a mate will ask you to help him move his surfboard or snowboard the day after you shave the roof racks.
No roof rails - due to the JDM rails below getting painted;

JDM "low" roof rails;
http://i89.photobuck...jimmy/Car-1.jpg
FWIW, the JDM low rails are basically the same as a 03 - 08 Forester, so go to any decent roof rack place and the can mix and match parts to get the right width for the car.
And there's a dude on OzLiberty selling a set of Bilsteins for a BH for $450 or so.
2002 Outback - it's gone...
