No roof rails left 10 holes in the roof (5 each side) and crappy mark's that wouldn't polish out due to new paint underneath and old paint on the roof.
Go the low ones if you can find them.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Yeah ok I'll have a look at some low ones and if not I was reading that there was plugs or grommets that you can use?? Think I read that in subaruoutback.org somewhere (just typed Subaru wagon roof rail removal into google). But that was in US, not sure about here.
I haven't had a respray, so should be ok with it not leaving old paint marks???
But it'd be nice to fill the holes and paint over...

No roof rails - due to the JDM rails below getting painted;
http://i89.photobuck...byjimmy/Car.jpg

JDM "low" roof rails;
http://i89.photobuck...jimmy/Car-1.jpg

FWIW, the JDM low rails are basically the same as a 03 - 08 Forester, so go to any decent roof rack place and the can mix and match parts to get the right width for the car.

And there's a dude on OzLiberty selling a set of Bilsteins for a BH for $450 or so.

Fahhhhhh, thats one sexy outback. *blow out*

Installed a Piezo Beeper to my Central Locking today to give it a little bit of a noise when locking and unlocking the Outback.

The Piezo was $8.95 from Jaycar.
I wired it to the rear boot door as i followed the instructions in the below thread...

http://www.mredge.co..._99Outback.html

Its nothing too fancy but is something that you can do yourself that adds a little unique-ness to your vehicle (if you dont have a beeper already), without having to spend big on an immobiliser or car alarm....
Cost was kept to under $10.
All up it took me about 15 minutes to wire up and install..!

I also installed two more tail lights into the rear garnish, I wired single filament globes (and holder thingys), to the brake/tail lights i installed recently. So, all of the six tail lights light up when the headlights/ parkers are switched on, and then only the the two outside tail lights and the two middle tail lights go brighter when the brakes are stood on...

I dropped one of the globes on the ground so now i have to grab a new one thats why its not lighting up in the pic.. haha

Off

If it's cheaper to get them from US why not? worst that can happen is you make a paypal reclaim and get your money back

HAha whats a Paypal reclaim?
I will be doing it as soon as i have the funds.. Reckon i could find a set for under $200?
I know theyre closer to the $300 mark off eBay.....
Or would it be cheaper to get an exhaust place to make one up? I might have a bit of a look tomorrow.

Yeah it's hardly noticeable on unlock and not that much louder on lock. You have to be pretty close to the car without too much background noise to be able to hear it any good.

Mate, it's the perfect spot for it :)

Might get another sticker and put it in the same spot on the front windscreen!

Did you ever change the colour of your HVAC display?

Found this interesting thread on UKLegacy.com

Yeah I did change it to a darkish blue but it isn't as bright as my head unit so I need to invest in some better quality and brighter ones. As well as my dash lights (they all went out haha)

Hey lads, I'm having a little trouble with my gauge cluster at the moment. All of my t10 lights that light up the speedo, tacho, thermo and fuel gauge don't light up. I know it's because of the crappy LEDs I used and am about to go grab some more t10s to wack in there...

But while the dash is apart I am going to remove the green colour off the back of the dials..
I got my hands in there and applied a little bit of nail polish remover to the spots I could, bug can't get into the fuel gauge, the thermo gauge and some parts of the speedo and tacho that don't bend up.
Is there any way to get to those spots with out taking the needles off? Or, how do you take the needles off so I can get to the rest of the dials?

I will be replacing the t10s with white ones when I'm finished.

Cheers
Sam

Not sure how you do it, but DON'T take the needles off!!!

Usually there are screws on the back that just allow the whole gauge bit to fall out..at least on a gen 2 there was.

Good luck with it.
