Went about pretty much unpluging every wire i could see that seemed to be attached to the loom as well as removing compontents that where in the way of the cables.
First went about removing the sides

Then went about removing the intercooler.

After that got right into removing most the frame around the dash as it looked like it would be easier with it out the way..
Turned out being a bitch of a job as i missed a bottom bolt and hadnt realised untill id ripped it off using force lol..

After all this was done i then moved onto a few jobs iv wanted to do on the car that iv been putting off..
First was to restore the what where horrible front lights.
Before

After

Then i moved the storage dim with the door to the bottor rung of rack and drilled a small hole in the upper rear side for a Aux input cable.
Really happy with it in there as you can close the door when not in use and also big enough to hold a 7ft cable that reaches the rear seats comfortably..

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.
It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

the way i would like to have it is to have all parts tools here and ready. ( I need to buy a hoist etc )
Then when ready remove the engine and liberty loom ASAP. box it up with the STI one and send it on up to Al at Am auto.
When the loom is away spend that time pulling the engine and gearbox out the half cut and service it. Then hopefully get the loom back and the next weekend go about putting in the new loom and new engine in.
So hopefully im only off the road a few weeks.. ( iv got a mates car to drive for around 6 weeks if nessary. )

Also how do you go about removing the grommits from the firewall ? Can i just get into them with a stanley knife ?
Oh and one more thing.. Im thinking i will need to take out all the vents/aircon area to get to the cabin side of the gromits ?
Cheers Vice.

Don't be lying under it when you do this.

Iv been looking where the loom goes and it seems to go under the radiator.. Im assuming i need to take that out next, Any tricks to letting the coolant out ? I pulled the top hose only to have it poor on the floor.. SO its obvously full lol..

Radiator: Undo bottom hose, and let the coolant pour out. Make sure you have a tray underneath.
Grommets: Use a flat bladed screwdriver to get under one side, then run the screwdriver around the hole, and the grommet should pop out. You can cut it if you wanna remove the loom from the grommet.
Passenger Grommets: You will have to take the heater core out, and all the surrounding plastics to make it easier to pull the loom through regardless, so you might as well do it.
Cheers,
Shazza

I have to admit after the amount of fuss I went to getting a bonnet, I wish I'd just gone for a front mount.
Scoop does look cool though...

I expect you'd need to do at least a little modifying on it to make it fit a Liberty, but for $200 including pipework, seems like a pretty good deal.

Oil Cooler to replace TMIC.
FMIC to replace TMIC.
Win win.
