once the glove box is out unscrew and unclip the air bag there are 2 screws holding the dash there...one on the far left when door is open has a cover over it, unplug all the loom from dash in the kick panel left side and your done....in the middle there are 4 screws once you removed the airbag module also unclip the plugs for the a/c box and motors...drivers side undo 2 12mm head bolts hold the steering column unplug plugs as well and there are 2 screws gold near the steering column holding the dash also unplug loom on right side kick panel...and then lift out ...perhaps use 2 people not to brake dash...

Side note there are 2 airbag loom clips you may or may not need to unplug in the corners of the car once dash is out they are blue in color are a bit of a PITA to unclip...

remove the metal bar that goes accross the car from the sides and then remove a/c and heater box with the fan all together...for that you will need to drop the a/c gas and undo the heater core hoses...

You need to remove the air bag on the Gen 3?

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Morning guys

Got the air bag out after strugling for 30 minutes with the impossible yellow and green clip !! and pretty much every visible bolt holding the dash in but still cant seem to get the bastard out.. It seems to be held from the top/front as in up under the windscreen..

Any ideas welcome..

I'm fairly certain from memory that you will need to unbolt the dash from the big metal reo bar under the dash mate. That might be the bolts that you're missing.

I removed the whole support bar completely, and then it all just lifted out.

Cheers,
Shazza

Got it out.. Just had a few cables holding it in.. Plus the plastic covers around the steering colum.. Really going to start putting some more effort the project as iv got some spare time coming up over the next two months.. And i was given a big gas heater so thats awesome and preventing ball freeze..

Torx bits you need for that....and you really should have dropped the steering column it would have been easier to pull the dash out....

*When you buy the torx bits get the ones with the hole in them you can get the cheap ones at bunnings or any tool shop they come looking as a set like allen keys...or you can spend some $$$ and get them ready for a 3/8 drive socket...

Heck yeah tight as...if you get them on a 3/8 drive ADD a bit of pipe for extension to undo them, Don't slip as that metal bar that holds the dash edges are sharp....

I removed mine. IIRC, the loom that runs behind the dash actually goes through the firewall into the engine bay through a port behind the aircon core.

But if you remove it, obviously you will have to drain the air con.

Cheers,
Shazza
