Bad news though. My frist cat decided to spill it's guts through the rest of the exhaust, as a result. 1.6 Barina's can put me to shame on a 'left lane eds after lights' situation :( I'm guessing it will have blocked up the what looks to be like a second cat (EJ251)? So for now to make it drivable for the weekend i am just going to have to punch the cats out, and get it fixed asap this week!!

EJ251's only have 1 cat.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Yep, piece of the destroyed cat has lodged itself either in the outlet of the cat or the first res. Most likely the cat. Undo the four bolts, replace cat (to be legal) or bash out the obstruction and put it back in. My R31 did the same thing - peice of cat would rattle around inside the casing, and when I gave it more than about 2500 rpm, it would be blown into the outlet and reduce the flow from 2 1/2" to about 1/2".

Be careful if you bash it out and put it back - no cat will mean a vastly different exhaust note that many cops know the sound of, and lots more stink from it too. Can always tell which cars dont have cats just by the smell when driving behind them.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Thanks for the info guys. Upon further inception with a grinder and huge breaker bar... There is two cats and the first had decided to pack it in. As you said allpaw, above 4500 rpm it would really struggle. So i removed the entire exhaust, and shook out what i would from the cats back, then took to the first cat to remove the left over junk inside. My mechanic is currently wrecking a Gen 1 Liberty so I'm hopefully to getting the headers and cat from that this week or next. Correct about sound and smell. It's smells horrible after sitting at the lights for a couple mins. Exhaust is a fair bit louder and raspier too. So cannot wait to get that fixed!

Gave the beast a wash this weekend. Then promptly decided to remove spoiler and de-badge rear. plugged the spoiler holes with some grommets for now and ordered an BMW E46 boot lip off eBay (likes zachs) If i like the look i might try and swap/ buy a non spoilered boot lid and some black spats.

Also going to change the power steering fluid to a full synthetic to stop the current OEM oil from aerating over time. If full synthetic oil doesn't work, mechanic said he has a couple WRX customers that have extended a line across the front/top of the radiator to help cool the oil using pipe similar to an air compressor (tube with round heat fins).

For some reason it doesn't look as nice in the pics as it does in the flesh. But we all know what a spoiler-less boot looks like.

Yeah i think the wingless look suits lowered cars better, but i might keep it like this for a while. yeah just got some rubber grommets to block the holes for now :)

Gromets look shit.

IMO the Gen3 boot spoiler is one of the best looking there is out there.

I bet you'll get sick of it real quick and whack it back on.

Yeah i have never been a fan either. Which is why i'm hoping the little boot lip will make it look a little better. At least until i can get the spoiler re painted :)

Well if you want to pay to get the spoiler holes covered and re painted, be my guest lol

I will agree on the better looking boot spoilers out there. It's good for when I'm reversing, helps me know where the back of the car is.

So my eBay lip arrived. Smaller than i thought it was going to be, still on the fence to weather i keep it and get holes filled/ buy or swap a spoilerless boot. Think i will end up putting original spoiler back on. But anyways, here's some pics.

nice mate. yours actually is a little shorter than mine, mine go maybe another 1cm on each side. i got annoyed with seeing the holes so i currently have both on there and it looks quite good. i went to take my oem spoiler off and i have pushed too hard on one of the screws, so now it just rotates without loosening :dash2:

Got some Gen 1 headers from mechanic.

As you can see, I have them a quick clean with degreaser and a wire brush to remove surface rust and oil. They are soooooo close to lining up with center exhaust pipe. Came together but the shoulder bolts don't tighten up enough to seal the flange on the back of the headers. Just cut and extended the center pipe and now it's all good!

Will post up an exhaust vid when it's cools down enough outside to go and make one haha

So some kids around my area have it in for me...

Posted Image
Posted Image

There is more on the back windows, front windows, roof, side and all over my garage door... This is the third or forth time i have been done within the last 6 months. Drove up the street this morning and no one else got egged. Really frustrating as i never hear them so i can never run out to catch/ track them down. Any other members on here found a way to deal with this problem?

I only ever keep in contact with close friends and as far as I am aware i have no 'enemies' or people that I'm rude to :(

What a bunch of pricks!!!

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?
