"7440" is single and have 2 wires.

Do you have any pictures of them installed?

I was under the impression the these HID's were miles better than the stock AUDM headlights, but everyone on here seems to be giving mixed reviews?
I have found a set for $100 that I was going to get, but now im not too sure?

Opinions based on personal experience would be great (Will be Rev A/C headlights)

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

I think they are better. Make the cabin levelling system work though. You can adjust it to the optimum position to drive with then. Not a whole lot more distance, but they are easier on the eyes when driving, if you know what I'm talking about. I wouldn't say they are miles better, but certainly worth the money if you do lots of night driving.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

I dont think making the cabin levelling is an option for me, very limited wiring knowledge, and unsure if I am getting the wiring loom with it.
I get what you mean about being easier on the eyes, and night time is just about the only driving I do haha

Get a set from ichiban, they will come with everything. Even better, get them to fit them and get them to wire up the levelling gear as well.

Would be great if I was in NSW, unfortunately not worth the trip from Melbourne.
Ill see how I go with the ones I get

It's not that far really.

We are dropping in on Friday, on our way to HVC.

Make sure you get the plugs with them as it's all different to the AUDM stuff.

Hi guys, got my hids in today but my RHS lowbeam is flickering badly and the high beam bulb is on (in both headlights) but very dim. When i switch to high beam the RHS doesnt light up at all.

Whats got me stuffed is indicators and parkers and whole LHS headlight works fine.

Check if the wire is heated or not. If it is heated then you have resistance problems on the wiring.

flickering could mean your vehicle is not grouded properly or the HID is Kaput.

Make sure you didn't accidentally join the HI to the LOW on the RHS harness. Even a tiny wire will do it, but will get heated.

I switched the headlights over and the RHS works fine in the LHS and the LHS didnt work at all in the RHS. This tells me the problem is in my vehicle loom NOT the headlight wiring
Also the RHS HID ballast clicks repeatedly when on lowbeam but LHS doesnt

Yes I was talking about the plug loom you plug into the headlight. You would of had to splice wires to get it in there.

Might wanna try your LHS bulb on the RHS ballast and vice versa to figure out what is broke.

RHS works fine when plugged into LHS. The issue is in the vehicle loom wiring unfortunately :( must have a dud ground somewhere

Gonna say, that sounds like a bad ground connection. I would not be surprised if when you test it under no load there's full voltage there, but as soon as you load it up it the voltage drops severely. I've heard of this once before, although with halogen globes. It was a prick to fault find apparently. Don't operate your lights more than you have to, that sort of thing is not good for the ballasts.

Yeah i have some experience tracing grounding issues in previous cars. This one is going to be fun - I didn't have a problem with the original headlights but I'm guessing something is amiss somewhere else in the loom.

Can't wait to strip this thing and put a new drivetrain in it! :(

Just a side note.

Check out how much a replacement HID globe is worth.

Bursons will do them to trade for $200 each incl gst.

No doubt ebay will have something cheaper.

My issue turned out to be a combination of 2 things:

1. chafed wire in the loom where the little white plug holds it to the chassis

2. dodgy fuse. I checked the fuses yesterday and this one looked good. I swapped it anyway today, replaced the chafed wire section and the headlight works a treat now.

Semi-related note:

Does anyone have a part number or product name for a JDM dual-filament parker? 5000K preferred.

Thanks!
Mark
