Back story -
A client of dad has had it sitting in her garage since about 2000 after her husband passed away. I believe it was registered and in a reasonable working order when they bought it, but 12 years without being turned over takes it's toll!
Still unsure what year it was built exactly but we think it was between the April and December of 1960 - which now makes it older than it's owner The compliance plate says it was originally BRG but it's now badly painted red. We didn't think it would need a respray (rather a few touch ups) but after having a good look around it today, there's a fair bit of rust, orange peel and other various dents and marks that will need attention. A possible original BRG respray may be in the pipeline.
From the looks of things, we've picked up a complete car; in pieces..! Everything seems to be there. Just needs a bit of TLC which is the perfect project for dad and I who aren't particularly mechanical. But hey, it's a 52 year old British car... how hard could it be?
Ha.
A few specs to note -
1960 MGA Roadster (soft top)
1600cc twin carby
18,000 original miles
4sp manual
Front disk brakes/rear drums
Wire wheels

On Wednesday nights carwash meet, I was telling Ash & Ty about my english toys, they said Morgan would like that stuff.
Then a few days later this post pops up, What a fluke.
I have a 65 Austin Healey sprite, standard & 72 Mg Midget, very modified.

Backing her up into her new home
Mmm, wire wheels
Flat tyres didn't help it roll off the trailer so gave them a pump. Subaru's to the rescue!
Such a cool, classic dash
He's a happy man!

Haha that is awesome! I know old British cars have tendencies to ...not work most of the time but they have such a presence about them which I absolutely love.
Duuude I'd love to see your Sprite and Midget. My brother in law has a '58 Bug-eye Sprite that he and my father in law have restored. Such cool cars!
My ultimate project would be a '71 Mk2 Mini Cooper S though. Perhaps when the MG is finished, we can go for one of them...

Only reason I ask, is dad's got 2 Sunbeam Tigers.
1 is an ex Targa Tasmania car and is pretty fun to drive (has a 351 and a top loader in it).
The other one is a crapper that had that much rust in it that was "fixed" before - newspaper, bog, chicken wire etc. Now it needs new sills, pillars, plenum grille panel etc etc to be made (plus guards and other bolt on stuff). Quite amusing.

Really not sure of the previous 'fixes' before us. I'm sure we'll find out in good time...

Looks like a good starting point.
Kinda the automotive version of a 'renovators delight'.
Wot, no loaf of bread? The other one is a crapper that had that much rust in it that was "fixed" before - newspaper, bog, chicken wire etc. Quite amusing.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
