It's alright. I'm not a fan of it because its sensor size is freaking tiny for a camera of that price range. There are better mirror less cameras out there.
This post would be awesome if you actually told me what the better cameras for less money are...?

Well there isn't really anything better for less money. But in the compact system category there are better options.

I like the Sony ones but they are much more than $279. Also have a look at stuff from the Olympus PEN range. They are my next choice. Its just that I have used a J1 before and when you compare it to the other brands out there is comes across as a toy.

Thank you very much for that man. It's not often that I personally hear that from anyone, so thank YOU! I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it. There are many more qualified volunteers then me, but I have now completed five out of five essential courses to become a fully-fledged member. Extremely happy! Next I can choose to do the chainsaw course or rescue boat course. Can't wait!

It's not about how 'qualified' you are, it's the fact that you are willing to do it at all.

I am trying my hand at being more like Adam and not spending heaps of money.....
If I buy beer I am not just going to get a 6 pack, otherwise I will finish that pretty quickly and crave more and it will be shit if I don't have any more.... so I would need to buy more which = more money.
I think I just talked myself out of getting some!
