Haha fuzzy legs!

I think it has a fair few limits hey! Hahaha

Yeah, the video wasn't that good to begin with, and against the rug, it really really stands out. Just goes to show how much prep and thought before you shoot is needed.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Especially with super slow mo!

I've seen it work best with a single colour background. E.g the sky!

So I made one of these today.

Posted Image

$39.45 in bits.

Seems super stable so far. Just need to permanently join it together now, paint it black, and add some hockey stick grip all around. I made the front "box" bigger, so later on you could add an external flash, a follow focus, maybe a led torch for later. The best part is, is because its PVC its well easy to add on and remove extras, and it's very light. I opted for 25mm PVC for the extra girth and sturdiness.

This is awesome shaz!

Maybe instead of gluing, drill pilot holes and put little screws in each of the joins so you can keep it modular. You know add or remove bits later.

Can't wait to see some footage from this!

Yeah, I was thinking that too Tim! Might be easier if you need to take it on a plane or something. For the mounting system as well, I used a 75mm 1/4" bolt, and drilled through the elbow joint, and through a screwed in cap. The camera then screws down using the tripod hole onto the cap and sits nice and flat and stable.

Should've bought one of these, Shaz.

Portable, adjustable, flash relocates to the top of the handle, and already black :P

Nice Job Shaz...I will use Morgan's Pic and your ingenuity and fab something up too :) Although I think I'll duck out to the 'second hand shed' at the tip for some 'modifiable' stuff...

That's a nice bit of kit Morgs, but I wanted something I could jam up against my shoulder, and then hold with 2 hands as well.

Remember that the lower the centre of gravity and the further the weights are from the lens, the smoother your shots are going to be. Also the faster you'll be able to move the "steadicam" around without the camera pitching.

Started out as a volunteer camera operator, then media production sort of became a hobby. Every now and then do freelance work after hours either on a camera or in the ob van if we're live streaming an event for a customer.

As a day job I work in IT for the government.
