I need to wash my car. But, M5 Roadworks + Campbelltown, means it'll be dirty in 5 seconds flat. Sigh...

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

how many times do i have to tell you.  CHEMICAL GUYS V7 HYBRID SPRAY SEALANT.  Takes the same amount of time as drying your car.

Your car is silver so its perfect!  Dont bother with paste waxes.  Yu'll never get to appreciate the depth that they provide, with silver paint

Sig worthy.

I know, Brett! I just don't like spending money on detailing stuff! Plus postage!

Would you bother buffing a silver car?

Or just wack that shit on?

Adam, time is money my friend.  Spend the extra few dollars on the postage, get a product that will save you time, and most importantly for you, effort!  If postage is bumming you, then get a couple of products, or some new microfibre towels, to spread the cost of postage.  Yes its buying more stuff, but its stuff you should have and it is better value.

re silver:

depends how forked the paint is.  Silver swirls just like any other colour.  Its just you wont really notice the fine stuff that you would on black.

doing lab work on a sunday is pretty shit.  Luckily ive got friends and family joining me for lunch down here a bit later.

Sig worthy.

I can't see the swirls and I'm standing mext to it. So I'd say a sealant would be fine!

And to be fair. In the last 12 months I've spent about $30 on car car products. And that was today on some tyre shine and interior cleaner shit. So I haven't not listened! I just haven't done it :)

I just need to bite the bullet and do it!

My car needs a damn good wash and polish after snow the other week, I gave it a wash the other night, but it was on dusk/turning dark - just to get the bulk of the shit off, and it ended up being dark when I was drying it off, had to use the torch on my phone to see what the fark was going on hahaha so needless to say it wasn't a fantastic job.

Woke up about 30 minutes ago. EPIC sleep in. Love it. Got home way too late (or early, depending on how you see it) yesterday/this morning. What's crackin' everyone?

Seeing as we're on the cleaning car subject, I wanna go past SuperCheap today and buy something to get my headlights, taillights, gauge cluster cover, etc, looking sparkly and shiny. I am a fan of Mothers so would hope to get something within the brand. I've had a look on their website and can see a few products they offer; Glass Cleaner, Plastic Polish and PowerPlastic 4Lights. Which is the better one to buy?

If there is something better that you guys use, I'm all ears.

For the record, I WILL buy it today. Ha ha.

That's a shit go dude! How long have you used these people?

I've been using them since I turned 18, so for about six years now. It's the first time that something like this has occurred so I'm not too fussed. I'm just annoyed that yet another set of STI rims are gonna be out of reach.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure they're not made for use on your lights. LOL. But if it works, why not I guess...

I'm not going to recomend it.

But I've always just used a good metal polish.

It's just polish :P

Ha ha, true but the compounds and/or ingredients could mingle with things or be too abrasive.

Well ignore that then.

I'll be using it at some point during the week.

To be fair, I only bought it because it was the cheapest, like $10-15 cheaper then the Mothers or Meguiars stuff.

Fair enough. I have heard of people using it before though (when it was on sale at Catch of the Day) and it seems to work fine. I don't want full on professional gear, I just want it to work and come up to a standard as close to perfection as possible without spending the professional price.

A lot of reviews say it's alright for light discolouration, but scratches or severe foggy-ness, it's not great.

Yesterday I washed outside/underneath/engine bay.

Clayed, Polished, Sealed the outside.

Acid bathed, Clayed, Sealed the wheels.

Scratch x'd the headlights + sealant.

And made all the black things black again.

Interior is never dirty because I'm never in it :P

Which is better, Scratch-X or Plast-X? I'll be using it on all my lights. Does the stuff work on the gauge cluster cover, centre console where the time is (on a Gen IV), etc, Cam? And what product did you use to make the black stuff black again? Is it Mother's Naturally Black?
