Its hectic how there is a full official style and process to the script writing.
Certain types of margins, indents, fonts, spacing, size, etc.
I watched about 3 hours of interviews with famous scriptwriters last night, along with heaps of tutorials, and its kind of like a gentlemens agreement or a handshake, that a proper written script is formatted exactly as per history.
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.

A lot of good stories have apparently been lost because of wrong formatting, seeing them binned immediately.

ALL pre-silicone too Adam.
@Shaz, do you have any screenplay's as reference? I bought the paperback screenplay's of True Romance/Resevoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction/Four Rooms just so I could understand more about how what is written corresponds to what you end up watching...I love 'em.

Yeah, I've got a couple of screenplays that I'm going to read through Pete. I think its important to read the screenplay of a movie thats been made, so that you can see how the director interpreted the script, and brought it to life.
There is a fine art behind it. Its certainly not an easy thing to do. Having to keep one step ahead of the audience at all times. Making sure you don't TELL the story, but rather VISUALISE it so that your audience can come to their own conclusions, whether that be the aim you're going for, or leaving it open for interpretation.

its the same with alot of things. unless its perfectly formatted, wont get written.
University essays can be the same. i know some lecturers/subjects/courses that unless the formatting is correct they wont even read it. 1.5 line spaced, size 12 font, margins at a certain size and can only use one of a handful of fonts (sometimes only a selection of 1) and then referencing all has to be exact and correct.

Don't expect TOO much from yourself and don't be too hard on yourself either. Trust me, you'll be your biggest critic.
Telling a story well isn't an easy thing to do, by any means.
