All I can say is that I cannot wait to get my wagon tuned.

e85 makes 98 feel weak. can’t believe you haven’t tuned it yet, should be the very first thing on the list!

I have been told by everyone to get my exhaust installed before getting it tuned that's all. I will be getting my exhaust within the next few weeks.

Exhaust then tune.

No point going Tune > Exhaust > tune again.

Exactly.

You’ve gone months and months with a terrible performing H6. Buy a tactrix, load matts tune, drive it happily until you get your new exhaust, then get matt to send you a revision. Too late now though hahaha

Gaz, if you are just doing mufflers there is no need for a tune.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I'm getting the Xforce centre and Y-pipe and TCP Auto quad mufflers. I've always been told to tune it AFTER getting the exhaust installed that's why I've stuck with it for so long...

Yes, but you can tune it anytime before hand, send a log and LV to your tuner AFTER the system is installed and they will send you a revised tune to suit the new system. Ie if i wanted to get headers, i’d install them, send some logs to Matt, and he would send a new tune for me to flash back on. Quite simple really.

Pretty sure the tuner could give you a tune to accommodate the catback system seeing as its not a big change so you wouldn’t need a retune in the future.

Although too late for you anyway if you’re getting it in the next couple of weeks   :D

And does all of this cost you money each time you ask for a revised tune? I understand that Matt doesn't charge for retunes, however I doubt every place has the same attitude. I cannot afford to get it tuned each time. I've been looking to get my wagon tuned at Pulse Racing in Menai as I've heard good things about them, the same goes for Matt however I just don't have a Tactrix.

Isn't Matt from Newcastle? I'd prefer him tune my car as he drives it over a ready-made one to upload.

Pulse will cost you a fortune over Matt.

You have 2 choices with Matt. You can get a tactrix and log your self with Matt sending you revisions of your keen to learn.
Or what most people do is catch up with Matt when he is in Sydney next and take him for a drive and he will tune as you drive. No need to do anything yourself and no need for revisions.

If you need Tactrix you can just borrow mine, Liberty.

Car is looking awesome Jay! You're lucky you have E85 available close to you.

Sweet man, thanks Josh! I'll definitely take you up on the offer once I do get around to getting the tune done with Matt. I'll be looking into it more when I'm ready for it.

I'll probably get him to tune the car whilst I drive, that would be the best option I reckon... If it ever does need a retune after that I can just buy (or borrow) a Tactrix and go from there. We'll see when the time comes.

If you're getting your car tuned at all, buying a Tactrix should be a given.

Matt works off his base tune for our cars, then tweaks them individually.
Doing learning views and logging has taught me so much about whats involved when tuning. There's no way i could ever touch the maps, but the information being displayed in front of me makes so much more sense now than it ever has.

You should also be in the habit of regularly checking LV's to make sure the fuel mixtures / IAM etc are all okay.

I'm on revision F (6th)- The car feels awesome. The jump from D to E was huuuge. I've had the chance to go head to head against a few cars lately..

Was dead even with an 07 WRX STI up till 140kph, he started pulling away.

Ended up a car length in front of a VE SS and a FG XR8 at about 160.
^ The SS and XR8 launched, and the wrx and myself didn't, although i was flat foot shifting.

It's pretty cool legally driving a car thats quicker than banned cars on P plates. Especially as the SS driver asked if it was an STI at the nights, i said nah and he said "weak". That warranted the drag. He winded his windows up at the next set of lights after i smoked him. *******.
