Is it just me, or is the snow forking shite in Sochi?

I don't know much about snow, but this stuff looks pants


Is it better at home on the slopes (pardon the pun) in Japan?





Apparently the snow in Sochi is actually really shit. They've been trucking loads of it down to the city from the hills then using snow "cannons" to make it fluffy around events in the city.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

The mountain is acutally 1.5 hours out of sochi.

That's why a lot of teams trained here in aust due to similar snow conditions.

Yeah Bretty, snow is shocking, they stockpiled snow from previous years to help form a base then they rely on shitloads of snowguns.

Last year I was talking to one of the dudes who was training for the Aus team, and I asked why there were people in other countries gear all over the place and he said that our snow at that point in time (which was even pretty crappy for Aus standards... which are not great anyway) was about the same as Sochi had been over the previous few seasons so they wanted to get as much time under those conditions as they could.
