Looks great Jimbo. Tidy vac lines and black wrap. Would you recommend doing it in any particular order? I remember seeing some under the IC when I had that off the other week. And did you label the lines? I've seen guys put label-maker stickers on for future reference..

The intercooler line group is pretty easy as one line goes to the I/C valve and the other two just go to fittings off the post I/C valve plenum. Line 1 goes to the I/C valve and if you mess up and get lost, you only have to blow through it and you'll hear the I/C valve click.
Another comes off that same plenum and runs to the DPS which is unrelated to the hose group but easier to tackle with the I/C off at the same time. I ran out of hose ( asked for 1.5m instead of 2m thinking it was enough for 1 group lol ) so left the plenum DPS feed stock.
It's pretty easy once you know your way around the TT junk. Easier to start from the bottom BBOD group and work your way up. I/C group is the hardest as it requires removal of the I/C. Rarely do the hoses have to come off again anyway and if they do, you just unplug the group as a whole.

Had another win today. Couldn't figure out why my key fob was letting me lock the car but not open it. Was driving me nuts. Had a suggestion from Will to try to clean the circuit board up in the fob.
Whipped it apart and noticed some brown gooey shit hanging around the open button. Had some CRC AFM cleaner in the mancave, so I nailed it with some of that until the bastard was clean.
Hey presto, the thing works now! Good solid opening beep from about 15m away. Happy days!

Those JDM folding type cup holders are the bomb.
I'm always seeing them on IM, I should buy one.
Great news about the key remote, an easy & cheap fix is the best.

It's a shame that so many of those cup holders are broken. They look like they tend to break mostly within the forward flap mechanism. It's a simple sprung arm and it looks pretty fragile where it joins the forward flap.
I'm nearly too scared to use it in fear of it exploding!

Good point about the fragile flap bits.
But sometimes you just gotta have the crazy fragile JDM stuff.

Did some more engine bay beautification today. Got myself some black in a can and went to town. Was mostly wanting to do the vac line and coolant line crossover fittings, but i went as far as the TMIC, the BOV and the solenoid box retaining plate.

Thanks for the advice on where to start. Did you end up using the 4mm ID hose? Can't remember if it was you that bought a bunch of it. :-)

Nice.
Do header tank too.
Yeah that'll be next when I go about replacing the coolant lines and breather hoses, they're so brittle down there!

So, today's job was an easy one. Was sick of looking at the ricer rear brake calipers in red so I fixed it. Threw in some new pads for good measure, used Supercheap Calibre brand (Bendix anyway). Look pretty much identical to what I pulled out. Also thanks to BK, getting started on some front 2 pots with paint and regreasin' the slides. Have hit the fronts with a wire wheel so they're ready for a lick of VHT.
While doing this I think it occurred to me that I really need some new rear discs and a set of new wheel nuts!

It's wrong when your fronts are silver and the rears are red!

So I spent today tackling some small things that needed addressing which have been at the back of mind for a while.
Firstly, my purge control solenoid fittings all snapped off a while ago, so today I grabbed some vac line and a check valve and went back in time a bit. Runs fine and no stinky fuel smell from the rear.
I noticed the other day one of the rear garnish brake lights was playing up (JDM extra lights). I bought some new Narva brake globes and set about replacing all 4 brake globes in the rear end. It's a dick of a job in a gen3 wagon as you have to completely remove the tail light assembly, there's no access port in the rear trims.
Came to the garnish one which was playing up and noticed the twist-lock bulb holder was completely corroded out and looked a bit cooked.I pulled it apart and it fell to bits! I chanced my luck at Pick and Pay to find something that might be the same. Went down to the Subaru section and couldn't find a dam thing. I ended up grabbing a Gen2 bulb holder which was as close as I could get to the JDM item. For the sake of $10, I could make it fit. Ended up modifying the backside garnish plastic a bit to fit the Gen2 holder in.
Did some tidy wiring and got it all in perfecto. Everything works a treat and the Narva bulbs seem just a little brighter than the cheap stuff. While I was at it, I popped in some Narva Arctic Blue T10's into the number plate lights.
During the day I dropped in to see Benny at Ichibum and picked up a new AT mode switch as mine was fooked. I also grabbed a similar key fob to see if I could get a second key fob working. I had a crack but couldn't seem to get the new key to synchronise. While I was down there, I got tired of seeing this birds nest of crap in the footwell and I never used the turbo timer, so yanked it all out! See you in hell!
Next on the list is some goodies to pick up from Sambo which will spruce up the interior a bit. I have some new OEM wheels en-route from the Land of the Rising Sun thanks to Mark and lastly an exhaust which I need to fetch from Bosskong.
In the pipeline down the track, a rear bumper apron is on the cards and removing the 4Pots to return to the standard brakes.
