ill be in the market soon for a new one. My old HP has been going for about 4 years and still works really well considering HP hasnt had the best track record with the life expecancy of their machines.
Acer makes a good laptop these days. just depends what your after

I got a new Acer laptop last year, it's a bit flaky but it's better than some of their old stuff. Had a desktop PC from them which almost caught fire

Yea i found the acer to be ok, I got one for my nan she only uses it for general things like youtube and the weather. suits her purpose.
