Shiny new windscreen. The guy said its been replaced before and whoever did it did a hack job. 75% of the clips were missing so its glued back in now but theres the option to replace the clips if needs be. Also discovered the noise i thought was the CV is most likely the rotor rubbing on the dust shield so thats good

How many days did you have to return the vehicle before it was time to pay for a second roadworthy inspection?  When I had Redback inspected they gave me 7 days.  The last vehicle I had inspected some time ago they gave the good old 28 days to fix and return for the follow up.

Cheers

Bennie

There was so much to do so the guy didn't bother officially writing it up. He said it was a week though

As some of you may know ive been fighting tooth and nail with a the drivers side rocker cover that refused to seal and would leak oil failing my roadworthy inspections. First i tried aftermarket gaskets (mistake), I then bit the bullet and ordered some genuine ones which are twice as thick and much nicer to install. That sealed the passenger side perfectly first try buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut as I broke the drivers side valve cover when painting it and got a second hand one the genuine gasket didnt work fit with in the new cover, some kind of revision or something. Thanks Subaru. So I had to go and find a new valve cover that had the two locating tabs on the back side of the cover. Thankfully the first one I pulled was correct. Gave it a coat of wrinkle black cos it had to match the other lel.

Swapped it over with the aftermarket one that still leaked even with silicone and its now sealed perfectly. Driven it around twice and left it over night with still no drips or smoke from the headers. About god damn time. Car has another inspection tomorrow so I should be getting the roadworthy certificate tomorrow seeing as ive fixed the rest of the issues. If i do ill be ringing vicroads immediately to book in a rego appointment.

No photos cos oil leaks are boring haha

I don't mind having a 15 min chat to my mechanic once a year so they can check my lights, brakes and tyres and tell me how much they love working on my cars because they're so clean haha :D

In theory, it means that NSW cars should be in better condition because of the yearly check... Obviously that's not always the case ;)

Yeah we talked about it the other day at a meet. We really should have them as well. Far too many cars with bald tyres and pads on wear indicators driving around

And then coilovers, window tint, etc are the detectable items on a car enthusiasts vehicle..!

Makes sense

Thankfully libertys are pretty stealth. Never been pulled over. Even with a white bonnet and stance nation rims
