So glad to see another GEN2 live on, good to see people on here don't just dump/wreck/part-out their cars at the first sign of trouble. I have a 'blown engine' from my parts car which I am currently rebuilding, a Subaru can always be saved....and made faster

I did come close to buying a cheap WRX and doing a bit of a hack conversion but when I found it was only $50 and labour I stuck to it.
Hows the engine blown? Head gaskets?

That's what I am assuming. Previous owner started removing it all before I bought the bucket. Since I am strapped for cash gonna tear it down completely see what's going on and rebuild over the next year.

So tempting to do a WRX conversion on my GEN2. But I am a strong believer in making a fast car faster than trying to make a average car fast. I am contempt with driving my boaty as a daily at the moment.

All depends on how attached you are to the chassis/body. I love my car and have invested a lot into the brakes, suspension and looks so all that's left is power. Plus liberty's are 10x more stealth than any WRX will ever be

Haha that is definitely true. Never had any hassles with police or idiots when in my Liberty. One of the best sleeper cars which look good. Would love to see your beast with a conversion. Would be a blast!

The never ending un ing of this car continues. Was at Tys place putting the finishing touches on the GX for transfer to him and pinched a few bits from the Official Mexican Gen 2 Parts Bucket aka the car joss bought. Got a new parcel shelf and rear speakers to replace the non existent setup in the rear. For whatever reason the previous owner decided to use about 1m of wire to put in aftermarket speakers instead of about 5cm
Also decided to double check the tweeters and funnily enough theyre d too. Plug is completely missing from the door loom
I was going to hard wire them but the wire colour on the tweeters is blue and black. Neither are present in the door loom. Any gen 2 owners feel like pulling a door card off for me pls?
Also took the set of headlight protectors from the parts bin. They need a wash as does my headlights but w/e
And because gen 2s

So today I managed to get the headunit out of the dash and swapped the climate control out for one that didnt have sticky buttons. What a ing mess. For starters there was 3 screws in the entire DIN stack making a total of 4 holding everything together the whole stack was bent and was jammed up against the dash plastics which were also split.
The previous owners philosophy of "why use 3 inches of wire when i can use 12" was in full affect
Cubts proper d. Theres also a bunch of cut wires floating round behind it and I dont want to know what theyre from. New dash is now on the cards as 90% of it is either bent, snapped, sticky, warped or just generally forked

As soon as i mentioned 300kw I was in trouble

Unfortunately I haven't got any spares. Can get you one from a wreckers easy enough though. Cup holders are usually rare in unbroken form thoughChasing centre ac surround (any colour) and cup tray if you have any sitting arround Nick.

The last owner seemed to think he was the master of DIY. I would think it would be a massive job to change the whole dash, is it not worth repairing and cleaning it place?
