Hey guys, im in need of a new steering wheel but the standard steering wheel in a gen 2 liberty is so boring i wanted to try and get on with the red stitching and silver momo badge but i know you have to do something for the cruise control which i really dont wanna do, does anyone know any steering wheels that i can do a straight swap with, so like already has the cruise control and the airbag would plug in and work and everything???

AFAIK, red stitching + silver MOMO logo + cruise stalk = 02 STi?

jdm wheels don't have cruise control. the australian ones do have cruise. most you see for sale these days are either from imports or are from JDM clips that come from overseas

pretty sure V7 is plug and play but anything newer is different (someone could confirm that).

imo the gen 2 RX/Heritage momo wheel is the best looking of the all the momo wheels from that period with the subtle embossed black logo instead of the silver badge

Mmm yeh i prefer the silver logo myself actually, so basically i have to domehow find an sti 02 australian wheel so it has the stalk and i can just plug it all up and it would work
My other option is i dont use the cruise control so i wouldnt need the stalk anyway i could just leave it out? Id prefer having it there though in case

The wheel will probably have the mounts for the cruise stalk on the inside. You'll just need to cut a hole. Worst case scenario you can just screw it into the thick black plastic like I did on my 401 wheel

the JDM wheel your after will have mounts to retro fit your cruise stalk to. you just need to make a hole in the plastic cover to feed it through

The only issue I found is the indicator cancel does not work 100 percent

Turning right is fine but turning left requires much more tuning for the indicator to click and cancel on the return
I think this has something to do with the clock spring on non airbag cars

Yep. Should all swap over
