I would double check the price on the 003. I had these fitted to my SH foz. Granted it is a different size and all with mine being a 225 55 17.

I paid $660 for all four. You could also ask Bridgestone if they have any 002's left.

That was at Jax Quickfit. Bridgestone could have done the 002's for $630 fitted. They had no 003's.

Gaz,

The more people you ask, the more answers you get.

I worried your head will explode.

Bridgestone's for sure.

If you want to save some cash why don't you service the car and do the suspension yourself? Or with the help of some mates.

I've got no one nearby that could help me out with the suspension and it's not been something I've tackled on my own before.

That's the price I was quoted at Bridgestone Select in Mascot. There is a JAX Tyres near work so I might go in there and get a quote. I have already asked Bridgestone whether they've got any older models in stock so I should hear back from them tomorrow.

think about the driving you do. If you fit the S001's you will be here again a lot sooner as they are extremely soft compound.

the re003's are also soft, but will last longer and provide just as much grip for your relatively stock car.

I'd go for the S001'S aswell mate. Although they wear quite quickly they grip like shit to a blanket in all conditions.

If you feel like a drive to Terrigal I can chuck the springs in for you one saturday morning.

Yea, mine are near bald and still won't lose traction in the rain no matter how hard I push it or turn it haha well worth the dollars

I feel better travelling on the freeway knowing that I 100% trust my tyres

Doing the trip down the freeway in my old lancer on shitty tyres was pretty terrifying with the slightest bit of rain haha

No I haven't man, just 215/45 R18 and 225/45 R18. Is 225/40 R18 a more common size, therefore cheaper?

Awesome. Thanks for that mate.

Thanks heaps for the offer mate! I'll try and see whether I can get out to you but I'll be sure to give you plenty of notice.

I think that's what will make me spend the extra bit for peace of mind that my car will stay on the road.

Gaz, you can use the treadwear rating to get some idea of grip vs life.

For example, the Federal FD2's have a treadwear of 420 so they are a fairly hard compound (they feel like concrete) therefore they will last for ages but grip suffers dramatically.

A performance tyre will have a treadwear rating between 180-220, so they are at the softer end of the scale and are the reverse of the FD2's.

Some OEM Bridgestones (like BMW) have a treadwear rating of 140!

Remember that your rims are 7.5".

The 215/45-18 is std for the RB 7.0" rim.

I just priced the Yokohama Advan AD08R in a 215/45-18 at $331 per tyre, but there are none in Melb.

Tirerack.com lists them on special at US$179 ea so by the time you factor in shipping and tax (over $1k AUD) I would save less than $100.

Might bite the bullet and get some, so I can be just like Richo. :P

Shame a 235 width tyre is too big.

Have some 235/40/18 RE002's at work, that I could probably sell cheaply enough.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

I wonder how they would look on a 7.5" rim?

Damn near the OE diameter.

You're a wealth of knowledge Jase, thanks mate. It's all been noted.

I know that there is a difference in diameter between the rims, however I've been told that the same tyre size is on the placard... I just want to stick with whatever is the stock size. Please correct this information if it is wrong.
