Yea, no cruise on any of the ADM model B4's. Not even factory option. The aussies felt it sat too close to one of the turbos, and removed it from our models. Sucks majorly. Stock Japanese units can be retro fitted, but it's a bit of a job, as I believe there was some parts missing from our models to fit it all seamlessly. Aftermarket units can be fitted easily enough though.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

hmm - must be a shot of an aftermarket I saw.

I know it was in a pretty awkward looking spot - actuator mounted on the front rail next to the battery.

Yep thats an aftermarket one Duncan. Mine had it mounted in the same spot. It worked fine but looked messy so I removed it.

Looks like it's coming together nicely BK. Well done.

Sometimes jobs like this one need a certain amount of thought, so you can move forward.

Do you have a link for the supplier of that new radiator ??

Cheers bro.

It was the cheapest ebay spec radiator I could find mate but at least it was australian made.  Much cheaper than the cheapest OEM one I could find.

It will do for now, the old one was pretty beat up and I was worried it would shit itself on the first warm day that came around.

It's for a GD WRX so it's not a straight fit. Very similar but I had to drill new holes for the top mounting brackets... the posts on top of the radiator are off by a couple cm's. The Perrin shroud hides the old holes.

Won't suit yours without some drilling  ;)

I'm still waiting for the IACV gasket I ordered last week, so my dreams of hitting the road this weekend are smashed again.

Still plodding along with car day by day and I'm happy with how it is all progressing. Today the engine bay got some love. There are plenty of other things that need doing but once I got started it was hard to stop. Engine bays are my thing... if you didn't know  ;)  Love a clean bay.

The spark plugs that came with the car look like the original plugs. The previous owner said he changed the coil packs because it had a missfire at idle, it's obvious he didn't even check the plugs. They were so forked. Brand new NGK PFR6B plugs replaced them.

I had a set of PFR7B's in Whitekong and attempted to use them, but whilst removing them I broke one, so off to Repco I went.

Check these bastards out....

I'll just list the work done in the bay....

Gates racing accessory belts

TT pipes painted & locked down with hex nuts.

Hose clamps everywhere (More to come).... no coolant or vac leaks  ;)

Intercooler painted and more hex nuts

T9000 BOV ...set to full douche

OEM recirc hose

Painted IC support locked down with more hex and shiney bolts

Conduit here and there, covering all that was crappy looking

3 extra earth wires added

The battery area had paint missing and was rusty so it was given a tidy up.  Ready for some colour.

DSC_0868_zpsw7qdyb6v.jpg

Next thing to deal with is this....

DSC_0869_zpso7ccs0gs.jpg

I'm at 2 minds as to how to deal with it.  I want the car to be as nice as possible... but I really couldn't be forked fixing this area up 100%.

I think I will leave it be for now and make a decision later.  Clean it up the best i can and leave it as a reminder of what this car once was, perhaps.

It's conflicting with all the effort I have put in so far.  Especially when I've been so anal with putting the right screws in the right places and the correct fasteners, like the dash trim plugs in the pic below... it didn't have the right ones so I pinched them from Bluekong lol.

The car was in an accident man.  The vertical radiator support was bumped back nearly an inch. It's all been pulled back to within a couple mm but that is the mess that is left behind. Everything else that was damaged by the acco has been replaced ie. crash bar etc. Looks like it gave someone a tiny nudge in the arse. Nothing remotely serious.
Just looks shit.

I've been getting stuck into it this week.  Loving the weather we've had.

Well, she's up and running, drove it into work in Sydney tonight.  The noise of the twins is forking awesome :D

So boosty on primary, secondary isn't too bad either. Looking forward to playing doctor and getting it boosting hard & smooth throughout the transition.

The only incident on my way in was a a vibration from the driver side wheel, I pulled over and it seems I forgot to nip up the wheel nuts.... ooops.

The maiden voyage was quite expensive on the juice but over the next week I'll be sorting the CEL & getting this thing running like a champ. It still has a slight miss/surge/hesitation

on idle even after replacing all the MAF, coils, plugs, & injectors. I suspect it to be a fuel issue, dirty fuel & clogged up fuel filter hopefully.

Sounds lumpy and mean, like it has cams. It will be going on the scanner for diagnosis as soon as I'm able.

All the same.... it runs pretty damn good and kept me smiling for the whole trip. God I've missed boost.

With the weather being great, I put my painting shoes on and splattered that shit over a few surfaces....

I'll wait another day or 2 before I begin cutting back the clear to a nice shine.  It's has a fairly matte finish at the moment and I'm yet to even wash this car for the first time so the difference in colours is quite noticeable.

Hopefully a good clay bar & polish session sorts it out to a more acceptable match..... if not, I'll do a closed door respray on the whole car  ;)

I'm happy as with the Blitzen gear.   I was sceptical it wouldn't suit, but it just works.... looks even better in the flesh ;)

There's still lots of bits and pieces to take care of but at least now I'm getting my turbo fix.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

This.

If it's generic OBDII than I doubt it will speak hobokong, mine won't talk to the RX.

Quick way to tell if an OBDII scanner will work on any car is check that pins 6&14 of the OBD plug an the car are populated.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
